GoonPro HD Hero 2 - 2013 Stumpjumper 29er Test Ride

I had to see what all the hype was about so this morning I took one of our Stumpy test bikes from the shop and put in 17 and a half miles on it. Bummer that the camera was pointed up a little too far...

I was gonna ask what the bike climbed like but after watching that i dont think you did much climbing lol.We had a Spesh test ride day here on the weekend. The Stumpy 29er was booked out all day so i got a Epic s-works...man they haul ass....i mainly do XC now and i can do it quite easy on the Enduro but would love to do a race run on the big wheeled bike....nice riding mate

Didn't do much climbing? Haha According to my strava results, i climbed over 2900 feet. The bike climbed a bit better than my remedy but id have to give credit to the geometry and brain shock in the rear. The bigger wheels only helped in clearing tough spots on technical climbs. I'll definitely try an epic next time though, the deal breaker for me this time was that our stumpy had a dropper post haha

It was a good video but I would have liked to see some more climbing as well, nothing better than watching a nice slow technical climb!

 overall = great riding.

Mate i love my dropper post so much i will have one on every bike i ever have...even a trials bike lol.
I have been on a new 26" carbon model and thought it was only marginly better than my enduro for climbing.EPIC FTW mate...even im fast on that bike.

On Strava,i do the same XC loop up to 8 times a week. Each time the elevation is different and the distance is the same every 2nd time only lol.....climbing over 2900 feet is great...i find the big tires great for climbing but it sort of "numbs" the overall ride.

I feel like your trying to talk crap samjam...lol i ride this trail every week just to train on the climbs and enjoy the sick descent. Theres definitely quite a bit of climbing. And who wants to see climbing anyways?

How can you "try" to talk crap? you either do or you dont.No evidence of crap talk in this conversation that i can see. With no footage of climbing i was thinking he got shuttled to the top.Zak replied with a comment saying he climbed over 2900 feet.......im trying hard to find any crap other than the start of your comment of this conversation...either way, sick ride on a great bike by a kick ass rider.Sorry if i offended anyone, have ya self a great day Wink

we'll have to show you around when you get back, whiting ranch and luge are so much fun on xc bikes

oh, I really like stumpy's... ultimate climbing xc bike with great freeriding platform! I like 26'' visualy than 29er, but 29er feels great to ride! Nice riding

 did u like the bike??

it was fun to ride but it wasnt nearly as "shreddable" as a 26er. Mainly it was a little sluggish in corners and had a tendency to slide around. Other than that it was cool, id almost consider buying one if it werent for that and the flex
  • + 1
Uhm, you were shredding that wagon wheeler.
  • + 3
i was doing my best, its like trying to steer a school bus!
  • + 1
is it even legal to ride one of those like that ha
  • + 3
Illegal in 7 different countries and every state except Texas. Mainly cause the wheels have a tendency to explode without warning
  • + 1
Was this all in whiting? cuz i havent seen some of those trails
  • + 1
No, a lot of it was on luge and Oakley too
  • + 1
