lots of people would held on for dear life, common reaction is to hold onto the bike and hope for the best -- like this guy --

 It's also worth noting that the actual impact of the landing (since I cased it a good few feet) is what gave me the go ahead to let go of the bars. For some reason this crash looks a lot smoother on the contour, check out the other video regular view.

 Yep, even if a had a extra foot and cased it a little it would have been fine, going off the lip I was like "holy crap I'm gonna do it!!" Then I realized the front tire was about to clip the landing hard, too bad :p
