We don't get much snow (if any) in Victoria. Ridden a bit in the UK and will do more this year (Afan and Bike Park Wales) - don't sell yourself short, the riding there is different but lots of fun.

Geography lesson...
Victoria BC is SOUTH of us here in Bellingham, Washington, and all of the UK is higher latitude than Vancouver. Our winters are also mellow with lots of rain, and only a day or two a year at most where riding trails is not possible due to snow. Interior BC has a proper winter. Love riding BC!

Lol Van got snow? Come on now. Our mountains I believe maxed at 600cm. The snow in the city is usually gone in couple hours. We get Summer, Fall, Sumter (Sunny but random snow/slush), Spring

When I was in the city in December It stuck for a few days but yea your right for the most part it just melts and turns to gnarly slush. 600cm? Red only for 500 this year! Where are you that you got 6?

The case is that you in Canada have riding trails, whereas, for example, in Poland (I don't know how in other European countries) we don't, since almost every mountain range is located in the national park in which riding a bike is forbidden. Of course you can hike in the mountain trails, but if you are on a bike you are treated like a some kind of criminal. I don't know why is it like that because cycling definitely doesn't destroy habitats more than hiking. What is more, a typical passionate mountain biker probably cares more about the nature than most of the tourists. So, all in all, you Canadians are lucky.
