For me, I was used to flipping on jumps which were a lot more kicky... Like airbag ramps! So I hadn't realised how much harder I would have to pull back on this jump. I just wasn't rotating fast enough and decided to let go...

Makes sense. So the tip would be to just try the jump normally first?
Also I've seen some people come off because the literally can rotate quick enough even though the seem to have taken off alright.... Are you ment to keep ur elbows (arms) bent?
Like is the bike meant to be tucked into your body almost?

To be honest, im probably not the best person to ask about technique! Just make sure you feel really comfortable doing them on either an airbag or into a foam pit... My first ever attempt to dirt, was over-rotated, which what what i have heard is quite common for first attempts! The best thing you can do is make sure you are really comfortable with the jump, and only go for the flip once you are 100% certain and ready for it! Good luck bro!

I nosed dived the landing and nearly shat my pants, but you sir surely must have filled yours after that valiant effort!!!

What do you think went wrong like how can I give myself the best chance of lading a backflip on first attempt?
