does anyone else ever feel like the orange poles that hold the track tape are brutally dangerous?? would hateee to see someone impaled. the one time i raced there was an off camber rock section that was also a pretty decent descent and i just remember looking at one of the poles and thinking if i crashed here theres no way i could avoid that. not sure what the alternative would be, but the existing seems a bit risky to me.

Good story, but I'd rather run into a "boo", then a tree, or a sharp broken off branch. Ridding any kind of bike is inherently "risky", it's not like there are pits with pungie sticks placed on the other side of berms. Let's not let the pussification of America invade our sport!
