My daily ride through Cape Town

Spent several months in Cape Town, in the end of 2014 / beginning of 2015. This was a route I used to ride every afternoon. One of the many versions though, as you can choose to ride next to the ocean, or to stay in the foot of the hill where you're climbing and descending all the time. And anything inbetween. Such a beautiful city!

I don't live there, just been there for about 3 months for a business trip, where I hardly had to work so it was rather a long holiday. It's an amazing place and I can't wait to go back for another holiday during one of winters here / summers there. But at the same time I'm super glad I don't live there. Safety-wise your freedom is limited to a reasonably small area. Not bad at all for a couple of weeks of holidays, but I really would not want to live there (even 3 months was too long).

But nature-wise and the city with it's Cape-Dutch style houses, it's by far the most beautiful place I have ever seen.
Plus you can walk around in a tanktop and shorts, while it's snowing back home Smile

Sadly I haven't filmed one super sick downhill descent. It was a very technical rocky section with a 400m height difference, while having a 270 degrees wide view over the ocean and the city underneath. The last 100m being bombing down some urban stuff through a neighbourhood with steep roads and many stairs.

I see you're from BC. That part of Canada is very high on my wish lish of places to go, the trails must be amazing there! Personally I live in Amsterdam, which is a great city, but is totally flat. No mountains at all around here and I really miss that.

I commute full time by bike. Amsterdam would be great for me.
DH in South Africa sounds sweet! The ride by tour was a unique perspective of that town and surrounding mountains, palm trees, ocean.........
BC is called super natural country, because it is Smile

seems like it would be one heck of a climb to bike back up to where you started!

Only started at 70m height (above sea level). The overpass was about 250m heigh and was the only serious / long climb.
