I don´t get why someone builds a trail with so much effort.. that is basically a walkway.. so sad .. because i´m sure ther are a thousand ways to make the trail tons more fun.. cause this was really just a random walkway,. though it looks nice..
But maby i didn´t really get it and it is not an mtb track and only for beeing able to enjoy NZ´s beautiful landscape

I think it was a contract from the council and the brief was probably to create easy family friendly trails.

@EinLurch. I'm Tim Hunter, one of the builders/ riders. I agree with you on your points that yes they do look like walking paths and yes there was definitely more than a thousand ways to build these trails. But the project was council funded therefore the trails had to be grade 2. People will probably walk them and the property is also a farm. The reason for travelling was to protect the track from the animals and weather. Is what it is when someone else is paying the bill. If it wasn't for regions parks allowing mtb riders into areas like this, its terrain we would otherwise never get to explore. 10 mins down the road is a gravity park, these two places will compliment each other nicely. Especially with a shuttleable down hill track to the beach here at Waitawa.
