GoPro of the World clip submission
A brief section of rad in a 2500ft ride of awesomeness. Pedaling out in the dark then descending into the clouds on an early morning ride.

Man!! All I can say is what an epic video!! At first the surreal golden sun and cloud combo caught my eye....But when I clicked play I was pleasantly surprised with the stability of the camera. Mounting the go pro to a gimbal was something I have always wondered if it would work out( my other expensive hobby is fying quad copters with gimbal mounted camera's) I'm stoked to see that you made it happen. I'd love to see a pic of your set up if you care to share. You got my vote!

Thanks Mouser! Here's a picture from one of my first days using it" www.instagram.com/p/6LSt8zmhmv/?taken-by=courtneygski
It's made by Zhiyun Tech, and was convenient because it can attach to the GoPro pronged mounts...like the j-mount on a chesty. As you can see in the video, harder impacts overpower the motor, creating a side-bob. I've also broken two of them, but when they're working it's really dope. Not the type of thing I use every ride, but when you really want the best looking outcome, it's really impressive. Thanks for the vote!

@op does the trail end there or does it lead to some valleys after all those lines on the ranges

@lyrill This is a segment of the trail, near the middle. I've got a video from a few years ago that shows more or less the whole thing ("Leaf Peeping on Lithium"). There's roughly another 500 meters vertical drop left, dancing in and out of the forest. It get's more manicured lower down, but it's tough to beat some naturally rugged singletrack!

@lyrill Lithium is a downhill specific mountain bike trail. The trail system in this area was the first user specific one on National Forest land in the US. Some trails are multi use, some horse & hiker only, and some DH riding only. I've uploaded a video that starts where this clip ends. Cheers!

@skijunky05 good stuff good stuff, thanks for sharing! when did most of the dh trails came to form ? also i can't seem to find out where the contest page is, but I hoped you'd won

The DH trails came from riders building them. Most trails built here in the last decade have been done so with recreation in mind- the real old trails generally came from hikers, hunters, and animals.
The contest page is on the Pinkbike front page- about 1/2 way down.

@skijunky05: Im interested in getting a gimbal for my Hero 4 Session and using it on the chest mount. Im wondering tho, is this www.amazon.co.uk/Feiyu-FY-WGS-Wearable-Gimbal-Session/dp/B01CL6I2ZU/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1462193134&sr=8-4&keywords=gopro+session+gimbal
all you need? or do i need to purchase a specific chest mount or anything else? cheers

My vote is with this guy. Fabio's line is super sick but this guy is just having fun Fabio is trying to hard

So your using a go pro and the stability is coming from a mount your using? Mind letting me know what the mount is? I tried gopros on my helmet and it isn't even worth recording because he videos come out so crappy

It's a zhiyun tech gimbal, off amazon. But a gimbal itself doesn't necessarily fix basic video filming issues. Helmet is the smoothest natural mount, but you've gotta make sure everything is tight and dialed. Edit footage and use the best looking parts- that's the best early step to take. Using a higher frame rate will also allow you to slow footie down which smooths things out. Film with a purpose, film a lot- and use a little.

This to me is the epitome of a perfect ride! Absolutely beautiful! Good Job! I wish I knew where this was. My favorite of all the go pro submissions by far.

that's freakin beautiful, and a tough trail too. Very cool stabilization. Got my vote, even against Megavalanche!

Is this raw footage? looks totally surreal as if you are ridding through the ashy/dusty air post volcanic eruption! either way, sweet vid!!
