Enduro vs dh bikes is an unnecessary argument, dh bikes are great for gnarly tech or large jumps but morden enduro and trail bikes are made so durable and are so capable you can hit all the stuff you can on dh bikes, with the advantage of being able to climb great and the bike is lighter so you can throw them around/play round with them more, however if you don't climb and you just want a bike to easily soak up big hits buy a dh. For me its an obvious choice as most of my riding involves climbing to the top before going down and I enjoy jibbing a lot, eg 180s ect, but to be honest even then it doesn't even matter what sort of bike you own, and unless your racing wont make much difference, take Fabio wibmers vid "out of mind" where he shreds on a old ladies bike with no suspension for example.

@isaiah10: yeah but usually you buy a bike to ride it and not to push it. Considering you go average of 25kmh on the dh and 5kmh walking speed on the uphill you spend 5x the amount of time walking that you do riding so you end up walking more than riding, in which case riding your bike on the uphill makes a lot of sense no?

at the end of the day it comes down to what you like and if ur seriously fit u can pedal a dh bike uphill.

@EliasFritzen: we wud all hav an enduro if we lived by woodhill. but 90% ov the time we go 2 parks with shuttles anyway...

@JDAbercrombie: ok so I see what ur saying here, throw all logic away and just spend 80% of your time suffering. u do u bro or you grow some guts and ride a trail without 200mm of suspension

@iljahsimpkin: yeah but these days enduro bikes CAN handle "dh gnar" sam hill came 3rd in dh world cup on a trail bike, this comment isn't taking sides just saying
- + 1
@rockyj: but could a trail bike handle something like crabapple hits. (not saying i would do them)
- + 2
@rockyj: yer but sam hill won pretty much every race he did on his dh bike until he decided to hop on a trail bike

@GladstoneS: I've almost bottomed out 200mm. And that was just riding around the streets. Anyway it doesnt really matter what type of bike people have. If somebody wants a DH they can have one without people telling him otherwise. Also you feel more comfortable doing big jumps on a DH. Not that I can say anything about big jumps.

@rockyj: i would rather do it on a jump bike probably beefed up to do those jumps than have a trail bike without the intended strength.

@rockyj: yer kinder. but sam reynolds is a pro. the average park rat would not do that. nor does the average rider ride dh as hard as pros

@JDAbercrombie: well nearly maxing ut 200 round the streat is just dumb that wayyyy to loose not even human
- + 1
@GladstoneS: You obviously dont know jack because the myride guy told me you were supposed to have it that loose.
- + 0
@JDAbercrombie: the 'myride guy' wud hav been reffering to cerial downhilling not riding around town tho....
- + 1
@JDAbercrombie: well maybe the myride guy thinks ur bike needs to be xc so he set the suspension up the same as a xc would use on the same hits
- + 1
@iljahsimpkin: maybe the 'MYRIDE GUY' doesn't. What would I care if he did or not. It's my opinion whether I have the suspension soft or hard. Why should you be worrying about how soft my bike is. Whether I do the big jumps or not shouldn't worry you. You are just asking for an argument.
