I think you're unintentionally combining two tricks into one.
Changing your foot is not part of the footjam tailwhip.
Use that other foot as balance.Stick it out..Sometime you'll have to pump that leg to keep balance. Down push or pull to hard on the handle bars.Your back leg will do most of the spinning of the bike.leave your front foot on the wheel until the bike is most of the way around..Give your self enough time to jump off the front tire with your front foot..the pedal will be closest to that foot once you put in back over the frame..Try to land front foot first,, so you don't end up spinning your pedal out backwards,, that'll throw you right off balance and messed the whole trick up..this is when it gets most scetchy..Keep eyes on the pedals until both feet are back on the pedals,,ride out..
I hope I don't sound like a smart ass.I haven't landed one yet myself..ButI'm pretty sure that I understand the principle..
We'll both get it nailed soon..I can feel it..and thats the most Important part..You goot feel the trick and commit. good luck.

Get a better bike prefferably stick your foot out for better balance, and it looks to me that when you are a quarter to half way around on the bike, you are pushing down on the bike, which is making you fail, so try and keep your balance and keep pulling back just a bit, oh.. and keep...keep...keep trying it everyday, as you will get confused and keep failin, just try it a few times a day and you dhould master it very soon
Hope i helped mate
