Sure, but UCI ranking is also a "world" ranking. You're right Sam was 2nd in World Cup Rankings and 3rd in UCI rankings. I'll make sure next time to be more clear in which ranking I'm refering to.

Sam Hill was actually ranked world #2 at the time of this video. Hence the '2' on his jersey.

Riders don't change the numbers on their jersey every race yet the UCI rankings change every race. The 2 on his jersey represents his overall finish from the previous year. It's something I've always thought strange about DH. It's to late to look back now but at the time of this video Sam was ranked 3rd by UCI points.

Yes I'm aware of that, but the number on their shirt is their WORLD ranking, which changes every year depending on their overall finish in the WC series. Had you put 'Sam Hill Aus - Overall #3' or '#3 in current standings'. Instead by putting 'World' at the bottom it refers to their most recent WC overall ranking. Which in Sam Hill's case was 2.
