North Shore Billet - Out of the Shadows

Since 2003, North Shore Billet has been making bicycle products in Canada with our own hands. It’s a challenge, but it’s what we love; working in a small machine shop with a core group of riders, surrounded by some of the best trails in the world. Corporate giant? Not us. At the end of the day it’s not about how much money we made; it’s about how many excellent parts we made.

Usually I like an article with a lot of photos and just enough text, but this time I would have preferred a little more information. Maybe a list of the products they make with weights, MSRP, specifications, and features? I get that they make stems and chain rings from the photos, but I would like to know a little more...

Yes, I feel what your saying but if you look at the last picture underneath it is the web-site! So, you can click and find out. I have one of their hangers for my Banshee rune, its top notch quality! I did love the movie, that was cool! RideOn!

I am their big fan! They make big range of high quality derailleur hangers, cause in my experience it is a pain. I have struggled a lot with poor made hangers, but finally I have found this little company. They also manufacture brake mounts, and stem spacers, and I am sure they will come with new parts in top quality soon. Also I know them for beautiful colors on everything!

They also make bloody good mech hangers and half the price for my v10!

Oh no.. their site is over the data limit and doesn't display.. Throw money at it now, if you can NSB. You're missing valuable click-throughs..

 Web issue Fixed. Well done!

They make bling for your bike. I've been rocking the brake adapters and fork cable clamps on most of my bikes. It's one of the subtler ways to differentiate your bike from all the others in the lift line.

Beautiful works of art. Not to mention they're long time North Van, Whistler, Pemberton locals who work hard, build trails hard and are fantastic community people. Don't forget they stock pretty much every derailleur hanger part known to humanity. Can't wait for the seatpost collars for dropper post guys!

'At the end of the day it’s not about how much money we made; it’s about how many excellent parts we made.' Oh really? Don't get me wrong I love a small company with quality attitude, but business is business and you have to pay your bills...

Pretty simple and clever that the chainring allows you to reach the ISCG bolts.

I had heard a year or two back that we might see a Hanger Banger for nutted through-axles, but looking that the NSB website, they still seem to be only available to QRs. Will we ever see a Hanger Banger for nutted through-axles?

 To clarify, I mean a 12X150 axle.

Of course they have to pay their bills, but isn't it refreshing to see a company focus on something other than their bottom line! I'm sure there's a company in Asia that could punch out a few thousand of those beautiful stems for half the price (thus twice the profit!). But someone has decided that quality control and local jobs are more important.

Spiderless chainrings looks brilliant, will NSB be doing the new short-tall alternating teeth that RaceFace and a few others have started producing? I'll place an order NOW!

Aussies should check out Chunked stems. Well priced, local works of art! (and no I don't work for them!)

I ordered their 185mm front brake adapter and some small bits, and have to say I am thoroughly impressed - the overall fit and finish is great, and there are no issues. The fact that these parts are made in Canada is a huge plus as well.

Hey I'll tell you this much, I've bought a couple brake mounts and stem spacer from them and their parts are top notch. If you haven't already yet , check them out!

They look great. However, more info on pricing and details about materials and stuff would have been great.

Don't expect any help when your there at the workshop. I called ahead for a dropout for my cove, turned up and waited 23 minutes for anyone to even acknowledge I was there . . . . Great stuff though, I'll give them that!

I can think of worse places on the planet to have to wait around.

That's unusual. I've been there talking to Chris (was giving him some hanger templates) while the other guys are busy on phones or running the programs on the CNC machine so I know that sometimes they'll get a few things going and they're immediately swamped. Perhaps that was the reason - they're usually really quick to answer via email

They just want ur money, just give it to them. They don't even care if it breaks just give them your money easy.
