4X and dual slalom were staples of the early 2000's races and fell by the wayside due to UCI not considering this as important as say XC or DH but racers such as Scott Beaumont should be commended for keeping the sport alive.
It's such a short but exciting race format that could be easily included again into WC weekends!
I love 4X, it's great to watch. I just wish they had had the support and funding to build tracks that really showed off the potential (there's been a few) with rocks, roots, etc. I know that most are too rough for a BMX but in a lot of videos the footage makes them look smooth.
Maybe it'll get a resurgence in the future and will be allowed to reach it's full potential.
It was awesome that you could pretty much watch the whole race from top to bottom unlike DH. And I love the head to head format
I would love to see live coverage online again someday. Really miss the 4X WC days when it was streaming live. Thanks to guys like Scott Beaumont, Tomas Slavik and the small frame manufacturers for keeping the sport alive.
4x/DS/26=so much more fun to watch/race
Maybe it'll get a resurgence in the future and will be allowed to reach it's full potential.
