The aim was to produce a short film for British Cycling and the BDS organisers to capture the passion, commitment and love for the sport that a racer has. We wanted to focus on the human side of the competitor, the sacrifices they make to compete and the long term love they have for this sport. Thanks to Si Paton, the BDS team, British Cycling and Stu Hughes
I shattered my elbow, hip, and pelvis in a race in Canada in 2009. I haven't been able to downhill since. I'm now 41. If I wake up one day at 45 and my body tells me yes again, I'm going for it, and will race. I love DH with a passion and miss it even more. Never too old, never too broken. Thats my hope.
I hope I still got another 30 years of it. 28 and feeling the damage from my younger dumber years involving the bender style drops to little to no trannies...
Oldest man down the hill @ the latest race I raced was 68. He killed it! The oldest woman was 57 and she still has the spirit for it. I'll be 46 and still think I'm in contension for a world cup...lol. Age is just a number, for reals....... Look @ Peaty.
Epic video, so well produced and edited. I was hoping this would really capture the spirit and essence of racing down hill for all you non pro riders out there. I think they delivered!
This was one of the stickers in a double-page of free stickers inserted in some MTB mag about twenty years ago.
