Couldn’t agree more. I want as much bike as I can reasonably cycle to the top of the mountain so that I can enjoy the bit I’m here for, i.e. the down bit. And that’s a 160-170mm enduro bike. I’m not racing up. But I’m racing back down.

Hopefully soon they come up with self-driving capabilities with remote cameras so we don’t have to ride the bike. We can just stay in the car and control it from our phones.

Review: KS Lev Circuit Wireless Dropper Post
I’ve had two KS dropper. Both broke in weird places. The rear of the lever on one of them after the gentlest of strikes with a leaf. One the little metal catch that held the cable within the seat post. So, my experience is, KS droppers are flimsy yet expensive. My Fox Transition is now 8 years and still going strong.

Why didn’t you just measure deceleration on a flat piece of ground before the wheel locks up? You can’t really control for anything the way you’ve done it. Fancy and all as it is. Slippage on a complex trail run must have thousands of variables interfering with the results. I’m wondering are there any results from tests the manufacturers of tyres have available publicly? They must know this stuff very scientifically having tested in controlled environments.
