Hart and soul. No two words better describe Danny Hart's dedication and passion to his sport. In this final instalment of "Hart and soul," we follow Danny's professional career from his Junior season, culminating in his awe-inspiring championship run at Champery.
I love the Danny Hart story. His relationship with his mum and dad is really heartwarming. I really hope he does well this year after the bad start in South Africa.
i could never ever be as good a rider in my wildest dreams as Danny but i sure as hell hope I can be as great a dad for my kid like his dad is for him. the Harts are a mighty fine clan.
Great story . With the all his new found confidence and success from '11 comes the accolades and the perks of winning . Unfortunately you only get to be " that unknown guy from no where" one time. The pressure he referred to as "not being there" in the 2011 season is NOW front and center for the 2012 season. He's a fun guy to root for, hopefully he can keep focused with all the added pressure that this type of attention and hype brings. Looks like he loves to ride super tight , technical courses and South Africa isn't that. I'm pulling for him to bounce back after the tough finish he had in Ptzrbrg, SA. Good LucK, Danny (pretty cool that his initials are DH)
Wouldn't mind to see danny have a bit of enthusiasm,it's kinda like he doesn't even realize he's one of the fastest guys on a mountain bike in the world.
I think that's the best thing about him, he won the champs and he's not really that enthusiastic about it, he's not in it for the fame and glory, he's in it because he loves doing it, just like many of us, we will never be Danny, Peaty etc but we love doing whatever discipline it may be.
Fantastic 2parter showing just how close the Hart family is and the support he gets, it's really heartwarming to see that.
Hart 2012, hell yes
DH is and inspiration to young and old, im 39 and only took up mountain biking 12 months ago, although im a bit past it i still wanna do what he does and wish him success in the future.
Glad to hear im not the only old balls that got into dh. Im 40 & just got my first dh rig. These kids are amazing. Im sure DH will do great this year & wish him all the luck.
Your never past it, I'm 36, any day without a ride is a sad day... Mind you I'm more cautious now I have kids and a business to run!, but look at Steve Peat, he's 36 (?) and still keeping up with kids 15 years his junior! he's an inspiration to us oldies!
I just love how his Mum and Dad just light up when they see him ride. Beautiful. Keep it up little man, you inspire kids around the world with your riding.
I love his riding style. It looks like he just falls down the mountain the whole way but stays on the bike somehow.. with some sick whips thrown in between.
Watched this at work with the sound off so i didnt get caught, even with no sound its emotional.... even with no sound and having watched "that" run before I still worry that he has over cooked the whip and is loosing it. But then he lands and I can breathe again!
Right, theres goes my local lad, go on Danny hats off to you first second your family third your team and fourth the film makers' as a photographer myself the emotion put through these videos is amazing, we've all felt it, video of the year is days too early!
Hey, guys, just one moment - did you specially remove the "embed" but, eh? For me there is no problem to use html code, but for the manies this is a problem. Why there is no this but anymore?
Amazing story..Emotional, tearjerker for sure..so refreshing seeing such a devoted and loving family!!! The Harts are certainly an inspiration to all. Thanks for the Joy!!!!
To be honest iem somewhat tired of the perverbial god status Hart has been given. No doubt hes one of the top riders these days. But i havent seen anything that sets him above the other top guys. He won the worlds, a single race with conditions that matched his specific skills. That doesnt put him on a pedistill in my mind. Look how long it took Peaty to win it. We all know hes one of best that ever. I guess overall i just dont agree with one particular win rocketing someone to instant limelight. Ill watch how he does the next few years before i start agreeing with some of the praise people give him
I couldn't disagree more cthorpe, the ride he put in at the worlds was at another level, it will go down in mtb history as one of the greatest ever, it reminded me of Sam Hill's run in Champery 2007, the commitment Danny put into that run was more than any of us meer mortals could dream of, I was lucky enough to be a part of Danny's early career and knew then that he was destined for amazing things, agreed different tracks suit different riders but other than Sam Hill I don't think there is a more technically gifted rider wet or dry in the world, his only drawback is his size for the pedally tracks but he'll make up for it in the rough. His results at world level have been consistent and steadily climbing to the top step, how then can you think he is a one hit wonder?! Yes you're entitled to you're opinion but in this case you're going to be proved wrong!
it's alright to have an opinion cthorpe, it's even ok to have a completely deluded and shite opinion - just because he isn't American is all i am going to say to ya.
i don't think he's been put on "god" status. he's just well liked and from what the edit shows, his family is very supportive and proud of him. who doesn't want to have that? It's a young man's game and if he can get all this attention at his age it's certainly well deserved and earned. more power to ya Danny!
well I never said one hit wonder, and i never said anything about him not being American. I dont care where someone is from, I just dont Emulate and or praise people, especially people who are relatively new in the spotlight...This includes Gwin. Im just tired of people talking like hes the GOAT already. Its far too early for it. I also never denied that hes a great rider. I said I disagree with SOME of the praise he gets this early in his career.
@ jmbrit, your comment was based purely on where I live and not what I said. if i had a different little flag next to my name your comment would have been different. keep your ignorant stereotyping to yourself.
@1trick, if you know him personally then you actually have far more behind your opinion than most the people praising him like they do. In response, there have been several riders that have smashed their competitors in one race. I just think its too early to justify what some people say, as some take it too far. I also never said he wasn't a great rider.
Danny Hart radder than Sam Hill because Downhill radder than hill Finally 2 Part 7 yall know what' i'm talking about. That was best handled, even though Marc won with that outside line(copied from Gee few years ago)
What I am interested in is how them boys(especially Gee and DH) deal with that turn this year....I DONT want to see that outside berm ride again cus it gets old...I don't mind the slide thing from DH but I really want to see what happens if u got the speed of Sam hill's crashed run and made it at the turn( Not saying it's impossible, many things could have happened there u know)
Comforting to see you've changed your mind. Please, list some insightful job related or fashion tips that he must be dying to use. If the riding thing doesn't workout , at least he'll have that to fall back on.
Damn i really hate danny hart. Just so annoying in every way. Why would he put sunglasses on in a raining overcast day. Round 1 south africa 2012 perfect start to the season.
Are you serious??? He's so chill and easy going with some deadly outa control style like ol' Hill. Gotta love those whips!! Go ride you bike and let the stress out.
Oh and the sunnies... I think you'll find that's in his contract. I'd do it too if i got paid for it..
Pfff. You try rising to the top so early at his age and see if you dont get full of yourself? They need to be to have the confidence to do what they do!
Describe yourself in 3 words: WORLD CHAMP BIATCH. (Quote-Filling in the holes) He has signs around his damn house saying that he is world champ. I give him mad props for what he has done, but no respect at all for his attitude AFTER winning.
Guess thats why Sam Hill has a beer belly now, no pressure
