Someone should have a huge game of bike with a whole bunch of pro riders like Semenuk, Rheeder, Logan Peat, R-dog, Pilgrim, and a bunch of other guys. And see who makes it to the finals and who wins! Would be so sick!!
Last year there was a thing called Rockshox Game of B.I.K.E, and it had a live webcast and everything. I don't think it had too many big names, but i remember R-Dog and Sorge being in it.
I feel like most stuff that macaskill does is not in the woods though. Perhaps that would level the playing field a bit (I'm talking a greasy north shore skinny line like what Ryan Leech does in cranked or whatever it was).
If he had stomped that last jump hands down he would have won. There was no trick in semenuk's run that bettered a three double whip or a triple whip... also soderstrom tricked off every feature where as semenuk did not. Sucks that he crashed. I was rooting for him!
Don't quote me here. But apparently even if Soderstrom had landed the three double whip, Semenuk would have still won. Semenuk is one of my favorite riders, but if that's true it's total crap. Soderstrom's run was WAY better. Too many points for doing the same trick twice in a row. I'm not knocking how insanely hard oppo tricks are to learn. But at some point Semenuk's oppo tricks just become another dialed trick, that he can land more often than not like the rest of his deep bag of tricks. Truck driver to truck driver, and double whip to double whip seems like an abuse of the marking scheme. Just do the oppo truck driver and the oppo double whip for massive points, and then do something else instead of the regulars of those tricks. Soderstrom made Semenuk look like a little kid with his run. He even oppo three'd the little tiny drop that most people didn't trick and that Semenuk only barspinned. Semenuk is insanely good, and even that is an understatement, but he has major offseason work to do if he's to keep up with Soderstrom next season.
Maybe he does it because nobody else will (or did, really..) Throwing a double tailwhip itself is worth major points, I assume. Throwing an oppo following that is super stylish and difficult, not to mention he did them both flawlessly. Having watched Crankworx live, the only person I can think who would have beat Brandon on the trick jumps section would be Martin, obviously. Just because he did them simotaniously shouldn't take away the fact he did double whips, in both directions!
and Brett is the MAN
