Six Ways To Make Mountain Biking Less Expensive
10 speed, 35+ psi in your rear tire, quarter turn your pivot bearings periodically and regular suspension lowers service without changing the seals. I'd say it's still a cheap hobby if you want it to be.

Pinkbike Poll: Which Geometry Adjustments Would You Actually Use?
The unicorn bike for me would be 140ish mm bike that would adjust to around 180mm and lengthen. I'd mainly use at 140 for trail riding and bump it up to 180/long for bike park days. I don't need any on the fly adjustments as I'm happy to spend a couple of hours on a Friday night changing the settings. I used to own a Scott Voltage that did exactly this. It was an awesome bike. A modern version which didn't crack would be amazing.
