Kenny Belaey and Thomas Oehler set out to ride a wild collection of statue molds in Sparta, Wisconsin - the self proclaimed “Bicycle Capital of America”. The town, which welcomed the first rails to trails project in America, offers over 30 miles of trail riding and is home to a fiberglass manufacturing company known as FAST Corporation.
FAST Corp specializes in developing giant, eye-grabbing statues that can be found in front of roadside restaurants and gas stations all over the world. When a job is complete, molds of every shape and variety are stored in a 9-acre field behind their workshop. After 35+ years of production, the field now contains hundreds of molds that created fantasy like line options for Thomas and Kenny to flex their bike skills on.
I legit thought Willy Wonka was going to be sitting between them in the truck cab at the end.
If someone in colorado is toking and watching this, please leave your comments for us to enjoy.
Wisconsinite here. Not sure if anyplace in wisco can be called the bicycle capital of the world, at least for MTB. Wisconsin is so flat the only trails worth riding are 5-7 hours away in Upper Michigan.
Eau Claire area has some awesome trail systems. Milwaukee metro and Madison metro areas have some good ones. There are even some downhill runs throughout the state.
