Video: Downtime With Brook MacDonald

by Red Bull Bike

In the third in our series, we head to the southern hemisphere to catch up with Trek World Racing’s, Brook Macdonald. A shoulder injury sustained during training ruined his 2013, but this season will see Brook freshly healed and pushing as hard as ever.

And, remember, you can watch the first round of the 2014 UCI DH World Cup on Saturday, April 12, live and exclusive on RedBull.com.

Good luck Brook! Looking forward to watching the Bulldog shredding WC tracks this year...

I seriously think that Brook is the new generation Kovarik. Not in a sense that he drifts or anything, but in a sense that he rides like a bulldozer.

Yeah man, berms quiver at the thought!

Definitely FAST...but is it just me or does the bigger wheels seem to rob him a little when it comes to control and flair?

Definitely noticed this too. The bigger wheels, while he is still going fast as hell, look a bit more wallow-y in their handling.

Isn't that the point though? Less effort for the same speed and in time more speed for the same effort

The racers on the world cup circuit are already going dangerously fast, so let's make them go a little bit faster with a little bit less control.

It almost looks like the bike is trying to keep up with him. As though he would get to the bottom and have to wait for the bike to get there after.

If you look at 2:13 his tires actually touch the ground.

Only long enough to change direction tho then blast off

I'm sorry , but the larger wheels looked a bit awkward on that course... I'm betting Greg Minaar is going to win South Africa on his V10 with 26" wheels... again!

I would say he has home avantage which is more avantage than moving to 650B!
