Same for a car, bus, chairlift, train, helicopter, or even a bike because of all metal bike have when we could be walking.

Small planes get okay gas mileage compared to cars when there is massive congestion or an extremely windy route since they fly straight. But the thing is, there are more pressing environmental issues such as chinese coal plants that will really doom the planet not just the american transport system (which is admittedly very inefficient).
