Photo Epic presented by ODI After a two year break, the EWS has made the long-awaited return to the small Australian island of Tasmania. A racers favorite in 2017, the trails are hidden in the forests around Derby are some of the most unique in the world. The creative use of natural features and massive boulders is nothing short of impressive. While the last visit was dominated by cold and rain with some of the most miserable conditions ever seen, this time it's nothing but sunshine and hero dirt.
Right from the start it was no surprise to see last week's winners Martin Maes and Isabeau Courdurier are up to speed and flying down the track. But a host of Aussies are looking to do well in front of the home crowd, none more so than Sam Hill.
The race weekend will kick off Saturday night with one single long stage before racers tackle a massive day of five stages on Sunday. And with a few thousand spectators expected things are sure to get rowdy. Especially when there are rumors of a DJ, a bar and a few heckler's sections spread strategically through the woods.
Be sure to check back for all the action on the track and the parties off the track as they happen through the weekend.
