While the
new DH platform and it's
unique suspension is surely exciting, there were other new bikes to be seen at the 2011 Lapierre launch in Chatel, France. Below you'll find pictures and info on their brand new dirt jump and general trouble making Rapt bike, as well as the refined Spicy enduro and Froggy freeride bikes. Enjoy!
2011 LAPIERRE FROGGY 318
"Designed to shred all day in the park and send it on your local super booters"
The Froggy is Lapierre's heavy hitting freeride bike that is designed to shred all day in the park and send it on your local super booters, all while being able to get back to the top under its own power... if it comes down to it. There will be two models to pick from: the dual ring 318 pictured here, and a high end 518 that uses Fox's new 180 mm travel single crown fork and a single ring and chain guide.

2011 Lapierre Spicy 516![photo]()
2011 Lapierre Spicy 516
In my opinion the sharpest looking bike at the launch was the 2011 Spicy 516. This enduro/all-mountain machine has some great lines and graphics to match. Think of the Spicy as a scaled down Froggy that still likes to get a little crazy if you happen to come across some gnarly terrain while out on your all day adventure. The entire Spicy range (there are four models) feature 160 mm of air sprung travel and a burly 12 x 142 mm rear quick release thru-axle. The top end Spicy 916 uses a slightly lighter Supreme 6 alloy front triangle combined with a fancy carbon rear end that shaves weight from the other models' standard aluminum frames.

Awesome graphics are found throughout the entire range

2011 Lapierre Rapt![photo]()
New for 2011 is the Rapt series of jump bikes. This is the 2.2
The Rapt series of dirt jump and trouble making bikes is entirely new for Lapierre in 2011. The Rapt series consists of four models, two aluminum bikes and steel framed bikes, one of each having gears and the other being single speed. All four models come with both front and rear brakes which makes them more versatile than a single braked bike. Throw on some mountain tires and hit the trails! The Rapt 2.1 and 2.2 bikes both use the same integrated seat clamp that is found on the impressive new DH frame.

But... where's Zesty?
There are some pictures of the new 2011 Zesty models on the link below. The 314 is still the classic silver and the 514 has had a colour makeover:

But how about some prices and weights???
Gringo:P
Does anybody knows anything about the 914?
Now, don't get me wrong, this are absolutely stunning bikes, and they probably ride just as good. Lapierre is obviously trying since they changed their design to something not so patented
thats how you know its fancy
"•Internal cable routing for telescoping post"
They probably didn't do exterior cable routing to make it less of a red flag for copyright infringement... eek. lol (just joking... but I could see it happening lol... the french are very funny people like that...)
