Random Kid: "Wow your name is 'Bam', that's lame, what's your dad, an idiot?"

Bam: "Nope, my dad's Sam Hill... Only the most awesome son of a bitch this side of Jupiter"

**Random Kid explodes spontaneously from exposure to pure awesome**

Now all we should do is make gee atherton reproduce hundreds of smaller mini gees and Britain will have an even better scene

 Angryham killed it.

@vroomvroompartyslayer: I almost fell out of my chair. "Pure Awesome"!

Bam Margera though, one of the most successful skateboarders of all time, I think people will respect that at least.

To be honest, even though I will get negged no doubt, I find this a bit of a strange awkward interview. I'm not really sure if we really need to know the that much detail about Sams personal life.
  • 33 2
Right? What was up with all the creepy ass questions... totally unnecessary.
  • 14 2
Si pat on looks like he doesn't want to be there ! And asking those questions is weird

Seems like when people preface their comment with something like "I'll probably get negative propped for this," they always seem to get positive. Good comment though.

Yeah, dafuq? Congrats to Sam, but this is pinkbike.com not midwife.com

"was you there at the birth? yeah it was a pretty wild experience" hahahahahhaha
  • 30 1
Si Paton is a crap interviewer. He is far too stand-offish, has absolutely no rapport with the interviewee. Who needs to know if there was a fucking natural birth or not. All things considered I thought Sam handled that really well.

I liked when he interrupted Sam when he was responding to a question, it made the whole thing flow so smooth...

@ simooo your an idiot... I just got a little boy the week before Sam got his and I think this was a great interview, he was interviewed on being a dad and the mom giving birth is a part of being a dad.

The good thing about interview on PB is that nobody will force you to watch it, now you know when the title say "... on being a dad "
just don't watch it.

and your a idiot again.
  • 6 2
@syncro - No need for name-calling, but in essence I agree. Oh, and congratulations on becoming a dad Beer

Si Paton just isn't a natural interviewer. The other thing that detracts from these interviews is the constantly moving camera, it's almost like the 'talking stick' and they cant speak until the camera is on them.
  • 3 1
 Pure crap. Totally uninteresting.
  • 2 1
@ almostwise I think your right and thanks.
  • 1 0
he asked the kid's name and Sam said he's called Bam and then about 30 seconds later he asked the same question?
  • 1 0
totally agree that is private info
  • 22 2
Bams going to be crushing monsters instead of breast milk! Sam ftw

some one needs to gently and politely explain to si paton that his skill set does not include what it takes to make a decent interviewer. that took awkward to olympic levels.
  • 13 1
I love my parents and all, but being Sam Hill's kid would be Da Bomb... Just sayin

I used to think Sam Hill was a bit of a bogan but now I think he's cool. I have a 3 year old kid and another little lad just 2 weeks old and for us new fathers it's really good shit that we can relate to. I'm surprised he didn't say anything negative though because there's lots of it.

I've got a lot of time for the "what have you got planned for him?" "Whatever he wants".

Of course we all want our kids to be F1 drivers or golfers, but I'd settle for footballer or mountain biker.

On ya champ.

Si Paton, have you ever watched TV? I think you could do with brushing up on your interview technique a smidge. Maybe just work on your introductions. Talk about a flat first 90 seconds, I almost fell asleep. You should take a leaf out of Ali G's book.

One classic Samapalooza party later and...........Bam... a baby is born. Let's hope the phenomenal awkwardness of this interview doesn't stop him dominating Gwinny and the crew later today... Go Hill!

 Such a terrible interview.
"and where were you when you got your lady knocked up?"
"what position where you in?"
"can I have part of the umbilical cord?"
  • 5 0
Hahaha, What a champ! Love him!

Not many people know that Hill once competed in the Rampage, back when he was an 18 year old young gun. I think he was on a Giant back then? That's the only place I've seen him in person, I hope they have a World Cup on the west coast again one day.

well done Sam for coping with the most awkward interviewer ever seen, PB to improve here please! gringe

Now thats a happy Sam Hill! Reminds me of myself 12 years ago! LOL! Its the circle of life Sam so enjoy the ride bro!
  • 3 1
I just think it's gonna be kinda awkward for the kid if he ever sees this later on Razz
"So, you've got a kid now !"
Sam : " yeah........... it's pretty cool"

The guy`s an ikon in our sport , being so shy its great to see this type of interview . Im stoked for the guy and not just because he`s Aussi .
  • 3 0
Yeah he seems to have a changed quite a lot over the past few years, could not imagine him handling an interview like this before. Seems a lot more relaxed and rounded. Everyone's all over Gwin atm but SH is a legend and personally I always liked his quiet low key attitude. He would just do the biz on the track and leave it at that without much more to say.

why shoud you do an interview like this when you have a SUPER- Rider on the way back fron injury???

  • 1 0
Hey those full sleeve tatoos are too scarry for me. I cant even watch the video, sam you too wild man.
  • 2 3
Thankfully Sam has skill at riding a bike because he still has absolutely no personality!
Shouldn't he be a little more stoked that he's just become a father?
  • 2 3
No doubt, this dude is boring.
  • 1 1
Almost as awkward/bad as the Ryan Berrecloth interview with Tippie. Almost.
  • 1 0
Gotta love how he asked the kids name twice.
