The reason behind the movie:
I wanted to make a movie that was different. No dirt jumping or slopestyle. And most of the time we ride street anyway. So, for over two months we just filmed. Every time we weren’t working, we rode and filmed, nights and weekends.
Who am I?
I’m Vincent Allard, an 18-year-old cinema student from Montreal. I’d like to work in the movie industry as a photo director or editor (editing). But in short term, I ride my bike and have fun with my friends. I try to make my movies as close to real life as possible by using shots of sceneries and locals. To film Main Street, I used a Panasonic DVX100B camera that can film in 24p or Wide screen. Those two elements are key to the quality of the images in the movie.
What’s next?
I’d like to make a 30 minute video next summer, with more riders and more locations. In the meantime, you can watch Main Street for free!
Enjoy.
-Vincent Allard
[Quoten]For me, there was no actual filming. It just felt like a regular ride with the guys. No one was stressed or anything. We probably have more fun shooting this movie than watching it! Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great feeling to see the final result on the screen, but when the project is in the capable hands of Vincent, you know that you’re not going to be disappointed.

Each day of filming was pretty random. It’s what made it so fun. If we had planed each ride, I’m sure we wouldn’t have been as motivated. Even if some days weren’t productive as filming goes, it just gave us a reason to ride more. What I remember of the last months is having a lot of fun with my friends and pushing my personal limits on and off camera.

The filming consisted of two kinds of rides. The ones with particular goals or tricks to do were the most productive of riding footage. The reason for that is because we had the encouragement of our friends, which at the end gave us more courage. And we had the ‘’smooth’’ rides. Most of the time those rides ended in a poutine and beer fest!

so guys props enjoyed the video and look forward to seeing some more videos by you guys and dont change a thing!
Thats stupid.
Oh. Bmxers dont wear helmets. So they wont wear any because their riding ressembles bmxing.
Xavier (blue Dob with suspention, Barspins alot) dosent wear a lid because he hates the feeling. Similar reasons for vincent (editor/filmer/Black dob with blue Dob fork).
Wearing a helmet or not is Personal preference.
When he tries something new/big/dangerous. Vince puts a helmet. Same for xav.
And the other riders in the film wear lids.
anyways, thanks for commenting, im not going to hate someone i dont know.
peace
Some good ideas, buckle down on your filming techniques (shake!) and post production and you could go far, good luck
higher quality...you can even download it for divx player
bmxers (some of them) hate on MtbStreet
Dhers hate on mtb street.
Evryone hates mtb street.
Its all about feeling and choice.
Kinda like wearing a Helmet (dont get me wrong I wear one and think its pretty important).
If they dont like how small a bmx is, or how harsh it can be for the back or the knees. Then they'll ride 24/26 inch wheels.
Good vid mate keep it up!! The full thing should be sweet!
Great street action for sure!
(you are the sun, only one...)
Love the vid. The barspin skills were a little over shown but eh, no big deal. Twhips are solid too. Got a solid riding crew there.
How, Just how, does riding 24 or 26 inch wheels while practicing street affect your sexual orientation?
You disshing out the gay word because you dont know if you like the girlies maybe?
Or are you just Oh so overly jealous of these riders.
I shoot with these riders often.
And I cannot seem to find Cooler people to ride with.
Better riders.
Good people to chill with.
These are good friends.
And I can tell you.
Whatever you ride. how ever you ride it. You'll never come up to the knee of these guys in term of talent.
You, young man, Are a total Noob.
Check out your local youth center btw.
They can give you some good brochures about Sexual Orientation. You know. Just incase you'd really prefer 6 inches in the back?
Your even more an a*shole than the others.
Plus you contradict yourself.
Telling us you think the guys are "weenies" Bitching about the fact they ride their bikes the way they want it and like it, and then saying that they are good riders tho.
Make up your mind idiot.
OH NOES.
THE REVOLUTION IS COMING
BREAKLESS DOWNHILL RACING COMING SOON.
Plus, Who are you to judge?
It is something new.
And its what we like.
And just b/c these guys can do better tricks on big wheel than you can on 20's, doesn't mean you have to be bitter about it!
Also.
MY comments are unprofessional?
Oh damm.
"Mtb street is gay"
"DUuuuuuuuuude Get a bmx"
"Go freeriding f*ck street"
"Dont mix bmx with our mtbing"
Stfu man.
Got bored first minute into it. Crash, crash, not pulled, weak.
Do your selves a favour, take those bikes on dirt where they belong. And if you want to ride street....for goodness sake, get a bmx and do it right
those 26" little rigid bikes look really silly too
