A good ride for Haley Batten, finishing 4th from a last row start position.

A good ride for Blevins in the men's, too.

Haley is the best American female rider. I really like all the rest and they're talented to the max but Haley was a top 5 rider. Glad shes back!

Also happy for Evie Richards after her bad luck this first XCO race this year.

Don't expect Gaze or Pidcock to be there this weekend.

Gaze > Pulled out of the Vuelta on the 2nd. From what I read it sounded like he burned all of his matches and needs a rest.
Pidcock > Tour of Britain.

After van Aert and Ko(oij) won the first 5 stages, the Tour of Britain has been renamed Tour of Jumbo-Visma.

@mi-bike: Vuelta is going the same way.
Kuss, is in Red. Vingegaard, Kuss & Roglic finished 1, 2, & 3 today.
Jumbo has so much depth it's ridiculous.
Their payroll must be astronomical.

@777MTBRider: Jumbo is actually planning to tone down a little on their investments in (world competition level) sports as their customer base is primarily local. The recently replaced CEO had a big passion for motorsports so I hope they're going to cut back on that primarily, but I understand they'll also lower their investments in ice speed skating and cycling sports. They've been supporting a certain go-kart driver in his early years but now that he's been getting a bit of success in F1 car racing prices must have gone up and the driver will probably manage just fine without their continued support. So yeah, let's hope they'll drop F1 car racing which should free up a good bit of money for (grassroots) bicycle and skate racing again.

Loana needs to get aggressive. Shes lost out quickly to very aggressive Puck. Puck raised the bar on the women's field for sure
  • 3 1
You can't win in Cyclocross if you're not aggressive - some of the riders need to do some CX....

Crazy to see Kate finish 4th out of 4 USA women.
  • 18 1
Great to see 4 USA women in the top 15!

 Nino didn't start?
  • 4 0
He's not feeling well from what I've read. So is PFP.

Yea Victor! A long time comin'.
Blevins is looking better.
Good to see Haley is recovering.
Sina and Laura look like they're still battling their way back.
Martin VK??? Wondering what happened.

No Jolanda???

Has Van Der Poel given up on mountain biking?
  • 3 1
Every few years he partycrashes a big race, crashes out the first lap and goes back to road racing.
  • 1 1
He'll be back next year to win the Olympics, as that's his main goal now...

Schwarzbauer absolutely ruthless in taking out Litscher.
  • 1 0
I didn’t think it was that bad. He went up to Litscher and apologized/cleared the air b/c he’s a good dude from what I can tell.

Litscher’s body language made everything seem copacetic.
  • 1 1
@pmhobson: For sure, these things happen in racing. Litscher gets it.
  • 3 0
@MDW83: Pidcock chopping out Schwartzbauer at the XCC world champs, OTOH….
  • 1 1
@pmhobson: ya. Schwartzbaur's reaction to that vs Litscher's to this was night and day.
  • 1 2
Both Men's and Women's field seems unusually small.
  • 4 0
XCC has a max field size of 40. Thats all they ever have at World Cup's.
  • 1 1
@Cabin: thought it was XCO, thanks

@HappyBiker19: Fair enough. I guess the headline does say "from Les Gets XC World Cup"....
  • 1 0
 @Cabin: Yes, indeed.
