The sun was out for seeding. Cam Cole (Rocky Mountain) 3rd, Sam Blenkinsop (Lapierre) 2nd and Greg Minnaar (Santa Cruz) 1st. Also a quick chat with Sam Hill about his shoulder injury.
Rigodon777 with comments like that you best hope you haven't tempted the crashing curse on yourself!!!!!
I believe that Sam was the man to beat a few years ago, even untouchable. He has started making the other riders think about getting faster and training harder. Then all the younger riders are also starting to grow and push the limits and making podiums - all in all it makes the world cup even better to watch. Why would you wish someone hurt who has done so much by just racing his bike.
agreed. ive rode that track and it is nothing short of horryfying, no matter how slow you go you still feel like your going to crash! big up them lads.
When you see a full sus bike it looks like the backend doesnt absorb any impacts, only when it comes in contact with the ground after a jump or something, anyway...Nice new look your sporting thier greg...
i think i agree, although i think Blenkinsop's going to do pretty good too, that kid is amazing, i means hes only 19/20 and has already won a world cup round in 2008, i think blenkinsop will get 4 and gwin will get 5
Am I the only one who's happy that hill's finally broken.. Like every other racer out there had at least one injury in one season.. hills latest injury DURING the season was like 5 years ago or something.. I'm getting ANNOYED by him! (Let the neg props rain on me now!)
Broke my hand last summer, mid season of my "just being a rider". It was fairly devastating, and I don't have sponsors, a race season, or title to uphold. I had no pressure to ride a bike other than the fact than I wanted to. Sam being one of the fastest racers on the planet, must have huge obligations to fulfill for his sponsors, and is under a certain amount of pressure to perform to very high level.
I'm sure he's having a difficult enough time on his own without fanboys (or anti-fanboys) hating all over him.
How does he annoy you so? Does he call you up in the middle of the night? Send you obscene emails or something. He races. He's good at it. He wins. Annoying? Geez, get over it.
We all have our favorite riders, for whatever reasons - I can dig that. It's cool to see the field of competition level out a bit (I don't necessarily believe he - or anybody else is so heads or tail above the rest, but that's another story). But if you're so wrapped up in spectator-ship that you rejoice in the injury of a fellow rider.. then, well, I don't know what to say except that really sucks.
I was rooting for Gee, but I hope Sam heals up well and comes back and puts it to comp.
Have you ever talked to him in real? He's a way too much in his bubble. Every other racer could easily start a conversation about the course or whatever. I don't have a favorite rider, because everyone has something to prove. But sam? I simply hate him.
