Joining George to talk ‘bike set up’ on this episode of the Making Up The Numbers podcast are Santa Cruz Syndicate's Greg Minnaar, Fox Global Technician Jordi Cortes and Founder of Motion Instruments Rob Przykucki.
Having worked with Greg quite a bit in the past I found that very interesting. I'm the same height as Greg and when he was on Honda and his first few years on the Syndicate I told him his bikes were too short and bars were too narrow, glad he has finally seen the light!????
I always wonder why inverted forks aren’t as good for DH bikes as they are for Motocross. Should have asked Greg how much of the Moto technology the Honda used in its forks.
I always thought it was because you need to make them very heavy in order to get the stiffness you need. you can get away with the weight if you have a motor, but the trade off doesn't make as much sense for dh. the honda fork was said to be plush and supportive, but also had a lot of torsional play.
@PuppyCat: Anne Caroline Chausson is the GOAT by FAR!!! She has more than double the wins of Minnaar, 5 world cup championship (only Rachel Atherton has more), and 12 World Championships gold medals!
