Nice. I think Scott sums it up in that behind the scenes video when he says his bottom line is that he wants the video to make you want to go out there and ride your bike. For most of us, that's probable an easy threshold (I, for one, am a bit like a Lab staring at that tennis ball in your hand - Ride? Ride? Ruff!!!), so perhaps it's more a matter of does this make you want to drop what you're doing, abandon grown-up responsibility, and take an extended lunch break?

I do have to take issue with the statement on towels, though - I mean, come on, we all know that 29er Super Boost towels would just blow these regular ones out of the water!

All visual wizardry aside - Scott keeps putting out his little master pieces, and then there's Bryn Atkinson doing his pared down, super-minimalist edits with stationary cameras - and while they are pretty different in their approaches, they both pass the gotta-go-ride-now test for me in a way not much else out there does. That's because they capture the flow of just flying through the woods on your bike in a way that gets downright visceral. Good stuff!

Gotta go ride now...

some pretty perfect riding right there. Putting wheels exactly where they need to be always. Super impressive out of jumps to the outside of turns. Inspired to get out and ride right now! Congrats Mike Hopkins and Diamondback! Video at like 1:13 shows the bike working super well too, impressive

This in no way makes up for Trump's Paris Accord decision, but it took my mind off the bullshit for 1:30. Thanks for the hard work, @scottsecco and sick f'n hustle as usual, @hopkins

I just got a release 3 about a month ago and I love it. I think it is the perfect example of how you can get a really great bike without spending $5,000+.

A far cry from the Hang On To The Ladders Atop The Van Driven By Jordan Dolly setup. LOL! Awesome vid. Always love the Behind The Scene stories and shots. Hope you guys well #Mahaole Bruddahs. @scottsecco @hopkins

That was great. Thank you so much for the making of video also. That was inspiring too. I love when people take a complicated thing and simplify it, and thats what you did.

@scottsecco: Inspiring video as always, but was super stoked on the behind the scene footage. What camera would you recommend to an amateur looking to step up their game. Been looking at GH 4/GH 5, Sony A7 SII. 70% video 30% pics is how the camera will be used and my budget is not limitless. Thanks!
  • 3 0
@bsarfino - Haha this is always the (several thousand dollar) question! So the first thing I would consider is: do you have any money invested in lenses? The best camera in the world can't make a picture without a lens so it's important to consider the whole package - camera body and lens. Lenses will generally last you much longer than the camera itself since sensor technology moves so fast. I would say that the GH5 and the A7s II would be your best options for image quality but I definitely like the Sony more, based purely on lens selection. You would be absolutely stoked on either of those options. I think it might Be worth waiting for the A7 III though either to buy it or for that to drop the price on the II. One final caveat with those cameras... results can definitely vary based on user expertise. If you watch tutorials and spend time editing and colour correcting then they can compete with a $40,000 Red camera. If you run everything on full auto then it may not look as good as you expected. Anyway, hope that helps you somewhat and good luck shooting!

@scottsecco : SO good. Thanks for the BTS, so fun to see how its made. Whats your poison, 30FPS for those slo-mo shots? Or do you undercrank or overcrank in post? Hopkins exited that berm faster than I can drive my car.
  • 3 0
Thanks @Heckler76! I shot all the real time at 24fps and used 120fps for the slow mo stuff. 30fps isn't enough to capture how fast he's moving!
  • 2 0
Anything by @scottsecco is pure gold! This man is brilliant behind the lens. Great riding by @hopkins as well
  • 2 0

  • 2 0
Killer job as always Scott, didnt know your cable cam was quite so DIY, might look into that...!
  • 1 0
@Nico-T Cheers dude! She's sketchy but gets the job done haha. Just takes 2-3 hours to get setup and actually get the shot when it's all said and done. Not exactly as fast as a MoVi...

 What bike is this?
  • 8 0
@gooutsidetoday that would be a Diamondback Release 3! I'm biased since they sponsored this video, but they're honestly awesome bikes. Definitely worth a test ride if you can get your hands on one.
  • 5 0
@scottsecco: i thought it was! I shared this video with my buddy who literally just ordered a release 3 last night. Sick filming and riding man! Cheers
