Red Bull Monserrate Cerro Abajo in Bogotá, Colombia, is the longest urban downhill race in the world. Watch the best urban mountain bike riders take on this gnarly competition across the 2.4km track.— Red Bull
The second place finisher was on one of Specialized's least expensive bikes the Status not to mention the winner was aboard a Demo. A pretty solid advertising return for Specialized in a really badass race.
@TahoeEbikes: The difference her was 1.5 seconds here and probably $4k+ if the winner was on the Demo Race. That said, Velez was riding like his tuchus was on fire and his run was the most exciting to watch. From getting sideways, throwing whips and pinning it like mad, he looked like he was having fun.
Wow! This is excellent racing, coverage, and commentary. Top notch. Really like seeing the sportsmanship as well. Downhill mountain biking is the best!
The pre-race plus they had breaks between riders to show run highlights - the fastest run was 4:30 but over 10s to 5th place...I would imagine there were a lot of 5+ minute runs...
No idea why anyone likes urban dh, the riders or the online spectators lol. To each his own I guess.
In person almost any bike event can be fun to check out
I love this urban DH too, very exciting to watch, shame for Marcelo the weather wrecked his run
