About time Red Bull broadcasts Urban DH. Excellent. Hell of a ride by Valez. Sucked it started to rain for Marcello.

Rob Warner needs a knighthood or at the very least an OBE/MBE for his services to sports commentary! Man’s a legend!

I love this urban DH too, very exciting to watch, shame for Marcelo the weather wrecked his run

The winning rims deserve a podium too

How many cameras did Red Bull have? why can't they have this many on the world cup races

I'm guessing the terrain involved in WC courses

The second place finisher was on one of Specialized's least expensive bikes the Status not to mention the winner was aboard a Demo. A pretty solid advertising return for Specialized in a really badass race.

It is just like the High vs Low upgrade series where the $10,000 bike was only 2 seconds faster than the $3800 bike.

@TahoeEbikes: The difference her was 1.5 seconds here and probably $4k+ if the winner was on the Demo Race. That said, Velez was riding like his tuchus was on fire and his run was the most exciting to watch. From getting sideways, throwing whips and pinning it like mad, he looked like he was having fun.

Watching this, I'm wondering if I could even do this @ quintuple their times...could a punter even break 25 minutes on this track??? DAMN...!

I could break 25 bones on the first corner. Does that count?
  • 1 0
@ZanielGa: I can do you one better, I’ll break 25 bones riding out the start gate.

Wow! This is excellent racing, coverage, and commentary. Top notch. Really like seeing the sportsmanship as well. Downhill mountain biking is the best!

Thank you for no paywall. That was sick to watch Big Grin

At 1 hour 47 minutes that's almost 11 minutes per rider. Slow course or one heck of a pre-race show?
  • 1 0
The pre-race plus they had breaks between riders to show run highlights - the fastest run was 4:30 but over 10s to 5th place...I would imagine there were a lot of 5+ minute runs...

Great format. Riding those things fast is tough. You could see even some of the top riders making mistakes.

That shit looks so fun. Make you feel like a kid bombing stairs sets of doom around town!

No idea why anyone likes urban dh, the riders or the online spectators lol. To each his own I guess. In person almost any bike event can be fun to check out
