Alberta has another bike park that will open its lift this coming weekend. TCD is pleased to announce that this Friday August 3rd at 5:30pm the lifts of Nite Hawk Gravity Park will turn and start hauling mountain bikers for the first time. The park will remain open through the holiday weekend. Regular hours for the remainder of the season will be Fridays 5:30pm-9: 30pm, Weekends and Holidays 10am-5pm.

It has been a ton of work to get the park up and running for this season. A lot of things have come into place in order to turn this project into a reality. TCD along with a dedicated crew of riders, managers and industry folks have come together to make this season a reality and produce the ground work for what will become Alberta’s largest lift accessed mountain bike park.

The Nite Hawk Gravity Park is something a little different from the other parks out there. It’s a reverse ski hill with the lodge at the top of the slope. This gives riders the opportunity to come to the hill, unload and get right into the trails. The hill boasts over 500 vertical feet that drop you right onto the banks of the Wapiti River. To carry the riders to the top of the hill a fixed grip triple chair will be running, with 60 or so hooks for the bikes. Another aspect that will cater well to the mountain bike world is that Nite Hawk doubles as a full year RV and campground for the area. This means riders can come and camp literally at the top of the lift and probably anywhere on the hill. Beer breaks, BBQ’s, tents and campers will be sure to make for a great atmosphere for anyone riding the hill.

We’ve made a lot of new friends up here and we’d like to thank everyone who has come out to help us get this park up and running this summer. Without your involvement none of this would have been possible this season.. We’ve learned a lot living in Peace Country this summer and thought we’d share some with you.

1. You can survive for 4 days on nothing but deer sausage, canned chilli, jalapeno poppers, jagermiester and jerky chew.

2. You ain’t nothing without a lifted 4x4 diesel, a camper and a quad in your driveway.

3. There are quality dudes in GP, and know how to play as hard as they work.
