Here is your (Un)Official preview of the 2021 Tennessee National racecourse at Windrock Bikepark. I am following Conrad Haener who is the current Costa Rican national champion!—Hurricane Cycles Bike Shop
@lovetoridebikes: We didn’t even take some of the fast race lines! We weren’t planning on anyone other than our friends seeing this or we would have planned for it better. This track is a huge puzzle for sure
To be fair, when you can ride at pro pace while talking normally AND thinking about your words more than riding one of the hardest race courses in the US, you might have a video on the front page of Pinkbike too. Claudio is a legend. His skill with this stuff is way under rated.
Place is rowdy for sure, only trails I’ve ever felt completely under biked on. I stopped in on a Tuesday afternoon a few years back on a roadtrip, not knowing too much about the place other than snippets you pick up as an avid rider. I planned to pedal it solo (pretty brutal road grind) and hit a trail or two. It’s athletic as it gets. Come to find out the van that passed my ass as I earned my turns was Neko getting some training laps in. I think I was the only other patron there that day. He graciously offered me a shuttle once I rolled into the bottom completely taxed. A personal highlight of my riding “career” would be making it down to the bottom quick enough to be offered a second ride to the top. But man, relentless, large featured, steep, rocky riding...and I wasn’t even on the gnar tracks...Thanks Neko for a memorable pit stop and a legendary bike park!
It's steeper, slipperier, more off camber and gnarlier than the POV...as all POV,s are. Bounced, slid and jumped my way successfully thru Masters class practice today. Raining now. Shred it tomorrow folks.
I live just a couple of hours from that place, I know there are easier trails, but videos like this keep me away! I have a couple of buddies that rode there right after the nationals last year, said they were going to go see the pro course and ride what they could. They walked it the entire way!
Go ride it and then get back to us! When I went out to UT and CO (I'm just 50 miles north of Windrock) I thought it would take my skill level up a few notches, but then realized riding back East you deal with a lot less traction than you do out West. I rode TWE one week and then Black Mtn in NC the next, Black Mtn was a lot harder and not nearly as tough as this.
wow what a cool track! stupid plastic tape all over the trees though they should ditch that. If you need big bright white plastic tape to show you where that trail is and can't figure it out yourself you don't deserve to ride it as far as im concerned lol :p
I can do it.
Me: hey you ever ride Windrock
him: Windrock!?!? What do I look like I want to die?!
Not deadly, just a little gnarly @Don23 @ridealltheb1kes
come on Pinkbike, you have to have someone there reporting on this race???
For example not wearing that detachable bell helmet
