by UCI Mountain Bike World Series

It's the second-ever EWS Shakedown day, and the pro riders were out hitting the trails in Whistler to test their set-ups and check out the trail conditions ahead of practice starting today. We catch up with them on a new trail in the Bike Park, Miss Fire, to see how they're feeling ahead of one of the biggest races of the year.

 Very angry at the whistler crew. Keeping the fantastic missfire trail closed basically all season to have it destroyed by ews was a very low blow. They should be thankful to season pass Holder and behave...

 Its not even in the race brah. chill out.

 Better than them destroying valley trails. Seems like they are mostly contained to the bike park this year.

 Agreed. But at least they didn't put a full EWS race stage down it. I got to ride Miss Fire before they closed it and it would been completely destroyed if they left it open especially considering how wet it was in early July. You'd think they could get it and Mid Guard open soon with this current stretch of hot dry weather.

 it was thunderfucked well before this. didn't get built very sustainably, and then they tried to keep it closed during the rainy times, got poached a bunch anyways and got wrecked anyways.

 @captaindingus:
I have rode it twice and it was one of the best loamy trails I have ridden in months...( Excluding Vedder of course )

 Just wondering, how come I don't see any Evil or YT bikes in EWS?
  • 11 0
 I don't believe those companies sponsor any teams in the EWS

 @laxguy: Oh that sucks. I would've loved to see those bikes in action. Thanks for the info

 @ewikpark: And no privateer can afford to run an Evil...
  • 1 0
 @EnduRowan: Why's that? There are lots of privateers with expensive bikes...
  • 2 3
 @ewikpark: you do know that those bikes are riden by riders and not by themselves
