The most famous mountain in this city, its half gone as the inside has been used for concrete but looks cool in its decapitated state! From the peak to the left, you can see inside and the innards are hallow! Much deeper than you would expect looking from this angle!
I remember you telling me about this as we drove by. Beautiful pic and an interesting story about our impact on our local and distant environments. In a way I'm glad that this is so close to development. It makes you notice rather than hiding it away somewhere.
imagine that mountain at the bottom of a sea now imagine that mountain being formed from coral . Thats a lime stone mountain created by animals millions of years ago.
Canada gets mountains and forest raped all the time.
Us first world people the one percent of the population are to blame.
Yes that you and me.
We just hate to see reminders of our mass consuming of raw materials.
Personaly it does not bother me at all.
We need cement.
Now asphalt roads. Those are a speading cancer.
Well the half cut mountain they have blasting there everyday so its off limits.
But you can hike the other peaks!
We ride the peak to the farthest left as it has many routes from all directions!
It is unreal! Its amazing to see something that has been made and is now irreversible but its better than what was planned initially which was to take down all 3 peaks you see here. Im glad they kept the other 2 as we often ride the far left peak and I have made many videos there!
@nikoniko: Niko, I put my comment before your description added. Now that explains. To be honest it is disgraceful what happened there. Who gave the companies the right to amend the nature and the landscape in such drastic way?! Too bad humans are amending and destroying the Earth and covering it with more and more concrete :/
I have only been up that peak once as its a very steep climb and the one time we explored it we didn't find many good trails, its very steep and overgrown. But the peak to the farthest left I climb 4-5 times a year. However, now that you made the request I will make it up that peak again to get some pictures!
Thank you! The story is quite simple, this mountain has been cut down to produce concrete and when it got half cut many people started complaining. So, they stopped cutting the sides and started gutting the insides. I have herd from many people that the original plan was to take down all 3 of these peaks. In recent years the production has slowed down a ton as it seems its now easier and more inexpensive to purchase concrete from China. Which they too must be creating a big hole someplace. There are about 4-5 locations in this city all of different companies who were founded on making concrete. One I biked up directly many years ago and found myself in front of a guard saying they do blasting here everyday and you need to leave the mountain as soon as possible. I told the dude that there were no signs coming up and he said yes, many people make the same mistake! I told him signs would prevent that but I doubt any movements have been made! As it is, its kind of a cool landmark and in respect to the mountain we now have a beautiful city to live in! Which is good or bad, well.... thats too late to say so, I say accept the facts and lets look for better solutions day by day! ahhahaah
Its interesting learning things about things, I would like to know more and more but a lot of things seem to have hidden meanings here in Japan, hahahahah
