Yeah buddy! This makes me miss my patrol. I sold it a couple of years ago and still see the guy riding hard out there on the trails. It’s a workhorse built to last. One of my faves! The custom treatment looks killer!
Thank you very much! I had some time this winter with broken ribs to paint her and slowly build her up!
Im happy with the paint job but, Im even happier with how well this thing pedals uphill and keeps accelerating.
She bunny hops very good and now I need to just ride ride and get used to this beautiful bike!
I have to admit, 27.5 still feels a bit wonky and rides very good but different. I found myself is some sections last Saturday coming in way too hot having to slam the brakes so Im still getting used to its flow. I want to bomb some single track and dial in the suspension. The front feels awesome but the rear maybe a tad too soft.
@nikoniko: when you get used to it you'll be flying like a bird. If you ever make a move to 29 wheels, you will experience another level of rolling potential. The sentinel would be a good one to try. I might send you my frame for some custom paint work!
Ohhh WOW that would be cool!
Everyone was asking me how I painted this with so many different colors.
Because in person its very sparkly.
The top is candy blue and the bottom is royal blue or subaru's racing blue then I have mixed
in silver and a mix of blue, green and purple glitter.
The key to painting with just regular spray cans is just light thin coats every 30 or 40 minutes, the thinner the better so you can create a blend of colors together.
Yes, I definitely felt the 27.5 wheels rolling in at what seems a much faster pace, that kind of made me boof into some of the berms. Once I grasp that timing it will not be a problem!
pimp pimp ! what model is the DVO and travel? didn't see Green with black crown . I almost bought green one but finaly took lyrik cos I want try the180mm
Yes the DVO is perfect!
I as a person who likes to tinker the DVO platform is perfection.
The sell all the small parts to overhaul these beauties and with the OTT its easy to dial in the feeling of the fork either very liner or very progressive!
I definitely recommend DVO!
The DVO is set up and feels really good, she is plush off the top and ramps up fast, I have her set a little too progressive which is good for Tox jumps but I will be playing with the OTT to make her more liner. However It feels good! The rear shock is the Super Deluxe so it has all the bells and whistles but current shocks so or this bike rather automatically sags down to 30% even with different air pressure, thats a bit odd and in so, I think its still a tad soft for how progressive the fork is now. So making the fork a bit more liner might balance that out before I try adding more air to the rear. Last ride on Saturday I had a good 23-30mm of used travel on the fork but the rear was bottomed out! So, Im still dialing it in! The bike is very balanced and bunnyhops great!
@nikoniko: the DVO fork sounds amazing! You will get the rear shock balanced with the fork . I run my Fox CTD at about 190 to 200 psi. Every ride I use all the travel but never a harsh bottom out. Time to get some trail riding in on the blue surfer
Ohhhhh the blue surfer, I love that!
Yes the rear never bottomed harshly but I didn't really do any plum drops.
The main line of tox trail is a fast pace slopestyle track but all the transitions are buttery smooth.
So, just some more tinkering to find that sweet spot.
I do however notice an experiential feeling of the bigger wheels rolling faster.
I think its psychosomatic and the lower BB with the bigger wheels creates a new feeling.
Im still apprehensive to ride balls out but some steep single track has my pallet drooling.
