It looks just like a normal V10 except the seatstay. They should keep the design like the vp free but with a lower BB height. It's just to bulky for a freeride bike if that's supposed to be a freeride bike. It looks awfull, get a v10 over that. Next year Santa Cruz bikes will look all the same, thank god i got rid of my v10. The Demo 7 looks much better and the travel is almost the same without the travel limiter, get a demo 8 if you want 8 inches but not that. With Specialized worked but with SantaCruz it didn't it looks really awful. I hate the seatstay! I've already had 3 SantaCruz (now 1) and i wouldn't sell any for one of those.
the link is the only part thats carbon. i was talking about the frame itself. its a nice bike though. i like how I'm already being negative propped about it.
It's that beefy, swelled-up look that's been so popular in years past... there is nothing new for me here... a modification of the V10. I prefer the VPfree as well.
To be honest with you, I was kind of comparing the two with each other (other people in the forum have been suggesting it too), so I was in a little bit of a shock when I found out how many thumbs down I had on the matter. Some times bicycle companies do work upon old models just to come up with something totally new with very little resemblance to its predecessor. Say for example the new Demo or new P-Series. The say they mean to upgrade the old model, but I only see a whole new bike with the same name in it. Now what: just think about it. Had Santa Cruz said they'd been working upon the V10 frame, polished all geometrics and then come up with this model, the forum's response to my opinion would've been totally different. The reason why this is an OK bike to me is due to its headset, speaking of which, has very little resemblance to that of the V10's. For the rest, the both of them draw upon the same spirit; that is, sleek angles (67), bb height (14.5/14. , same rear piece (the way the suspension is fit onto the frame is pretty similar too), a chainstay of 17.4, etc. The only thing I was saying is the V10 is a Stone Age bike whereas this one is more modern like (or up-to-date if you like). I know what I am saying mate.
PS. Sorry about my punctuation, but I only use English as a second language; as a matter of fact, I am from Spain. Ta.
I could not care less what you gonna do and it is Day666 what I am talking to, not you. It is obvious you cannot tell a stick from a fishing rod and I do not suffer fools gladly.
