Theres a certain technique when landing in trials (rear tire first kinda thing).. you just need balls and leg strength.
Generally speaking, if you can drop 2 feet with perfect form, you can do 10 if you have enough leg strenght + strong enough bike.

Holy crap, thats HUGE! It looked massive in the vid, but you really get an idea for the sheer scale of that drop in this sequence. He's that good because he lives and breathes it. When the rest of the WC Carnival was in the park in the centre of Fort William partying on the Saturday evening, we saw him riding around down by the Loch front, 'playing' on the walls of the raised flowerbeds. Anyone that was at the bottom of the WC DH on the Saturday afternoon will have seen him pull his newest trick. He can land a complete backflip on the flat off what appeared to be about an 80cm kicker with a 10m run up. Awesome!
