Highly crazy. 10"travel (and mx forks?)and carbon frame!!! How much have you spent on it?
  • 12 1
what's on the upper chainstay? a modified fork?!
  • 10 0
 1. Upper chainstay is the seatstay. 2. It's interesting that Showa was making forks like this 10 years ago.

robby bourdon kind of bike if you change carbon for alluminum.
  • 10 0
I had one of those old gaint carbon DH bikes come into shop. It didn't have a rear fork but it had an even wierder linkage. The guy was using it for commuting, I almost wanted to buy it off him and slap him.
  • 5 8
Yeah guys you see the seatstay isn't a fork, it has adjustable crowns. That way you can adjust your BB height.
  • 19 0
18 pounds for the fork is more like it.

wait, there's no way the rear fork works unless he's riding backwards O_o
  • 8 0
i recon maybe he means 18kg
  • 7 0
18.5 pounds??? no way!! 18.5 kilos??? maybe.
  • 3 0

Then why has he got a rear shock as well?
  • 5 0
he wanted more travel so he added on the fork
  • 2 0
 thats sooo dope Razz
  • 3 0
 whats your point?
  • 2 2
Id have thought it was obvious, look at the differences, i mean, what happened? its a machine now when the original spec and pic in bikepedia is basically an xc bike
  • 4 0
uh.... yes he replaced the seatstays with forks! that is what everyone is so amazed by.....
  • 3 0
He's essentially fucked up what was a nice retro bike. Nice work.
  • 1 0
18.5 pounds is probably referring to just the frame lol
  • 19 4
that is just disgustingly ugly! And why on earth would you put LED's on the bike? 18 Lbs I call bullshit on that. there are hardlay any 18lb carbon XC bikes out there let alone a 18lb carbon DH bike. I think someone was smokin a little to much crack!
  • 19 1
 prolly 18 pound fork
  • 15 0
 18.3 pounds=8.3kg. bullshit.
  • 8 0
 this bike made my day
  • 8 2
I say it would be even more crazy if you could replace the back forks with sum super monster t's Smile
  • 4 1
I love it - RSTs though? Talk about letting the team down!

It looks like a curvy hardtail with serious hucking potential, odd build though. Carbon frame, 3 rings at front, backwards stem e.t.c.
  • 5 1
hahaha, it has a little fork in the back!, and if you 50 500 cased, your shock woyuld get fuckeedddd
  • 4 2
shut the fuck up stupid kids, you dont know what is old school, people were using that kind of bikes for DH when you were shitting your pants, show some respect for history of mountain biking.

18lbs is a load of shit , Anyone who rides bikes would know that it would be down right retarted to have a 18lb dh bike and that it is impossible, Lightest dh build i have ever heard of is a 28lb trek session 9.9 all brand new proto type shit that you dont even know exists , Maybe you should get a real bike scale and take a picture of your so called 18lbs
  • 4 2
maybe 38.3 pounds, and that would be the very least. Look at the steel stanchions on the fork.
  • 3 1
no way 18.3 man you are a big fibber. my xc bike weighs 22 pounds and thats titanium.!!
  • 3 0
is it just me or does the front fork have a ridiculous amount of travel?
  • 1 4
Well if you see 10" as small travel, it's just you.
  • 2 0
he said ridiculous amount.. that means A LOT
  • 2 1
all i can say is cool handy work and awesome way to recycle parts this is one off and deserve my respect for trying hard i bet its very supple on DH cheers dude try again
  • 1 1
That's hilarious. lol An ordinery DH bike will do the same job as that one, and maybe even better.

I recon that, let's say, a Scott Gamlber can do bigger jumps than this one.
  • 1 2
Ok, well, I'm sure the owner of this bike has thousands of dollars to go out and buy full-on DH bikes. Oh wait, no, he probably doesn't, he probably has to make do with what he has. Try to think before you run your mouth next time.

dude bike looks awesome, but i think u need to remove that front shifter/deraulier and put some nice single speed dh crank 38t ring with mrp system chain guide, and rear shock as well, dhx5.0, is that fork steel? u need fox40 bro... and your bike will rock, i am sure it will weigh lighter, cheers
  • 1 0
I don't think the point is to make it practical.
  • 2 1
i love how on the back there is a shock and a fork. It looks so sweet man! Props Wink

  • 1 0
holy mother of all bikes this one is just wow it's like TANK its awesome i want one
  • 2 1
lol looks like a dirt bike fork
  • 1 1
wait wouldn't the crown of the fork hit the seat tube with in like 2 inches of the shock link moving ?
  • 0 0
it only moves about 2 inches. the rocker is equal on both sides of the pivot so it's about a 1 to 1 ratio and the stroke looks to be about 2 or less inches.
  • 2 1
those tires and seat weigh 18 pounds
  • 0 0
dude part of the rear suspension is a fork and if u bottom it goes to shock. crazy
