I would rather ride a 5.5hp Snapper mower from the mid nineties to prom than show up in a Prius.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=CpjPIj1YF0M Cummins Diesel = f*ck yeah. But the more hosers that buy Prius' and ride their bikes the better. That way I can burn the resources they save.

There was a write up about this car in Diesel power. It looked pretty badass. Sure isn't a showcar. The guy broke so many bandsaw blades during the build he used them as trim down the sides of the body and the visor. Pretty sick.

trozei....You must be the one they talk about in the joke, you know? the one that says a Prius and a fat chick are both fun to drive...till someone see's you!!!

That is badass, black smoke from the diesel and white from the tires.

Why hate on the Hybrids? I drive a Jeep and am dying to get a Hybrid car. 14 MPG vs 40+ MPG, not rocket science but id rather get 50 MPG on the highway.
  • 2 0
Hybrids are amazing if you're looking for fuel economy yes, but beyond that, not much is getting done with a hybrid, especially a tiny prius. i would love a hybrid car, my parents live in the middle of nowhere, so it takes a bit of driving to get places.

this car also happens to be diesel powered, and is probably a show car lol. more like the person being like hybrids? f*ck that! and taking his show car and doing massive burnouts. i probably would do this too if i could afford it.
  • 1 0
I love diesels and trucks and sports cars as well haha. I just wouldn't say priuses are gay like other people tend to do, I mean sure you cant burn out in them but I dont like getting 12 MPG in the Jeep for getting around town lol.
  • 1 0
Completely understood! Prius' are essentially marketed towards you mostly haha. What about driving bikes around?
  • 1 0
Thats what I have mostly been doing (already put 2,500 miles on my roadbike so far this year), but I need an energy efficient vehicle to get to Cali. and other places for DH racing.
  • 1 0
No I literally mean with what method are you going to drive around with bikes if you got a Prius?
  • 1 0
What kind of jeep gets 14MPG?
  • 1 0
A Jeep Wrangler 6 Inch lift, like 38's on it or somethin like that. And the truck I was given at first only got 14 MPG as well. GMC Sierra 3500 Duramax HD. sooo, ive never owned an energy efficient car, most efficient one I drove was a Porsche 928. lol
  • 1 0
I was confused as to what jeep got 14 lol, but that makes sense Razz our 5.7L jeep isn't that bad haha
  • 1 0
The upcoming Volvo v60 plug in hybrid/diesel looks like a super efficient car.
  • 1 0
dude i feel the MPG thing. I got a 67 chevy with a 355. My mpgs are so low, I cant even figure it out. Im looking for an automatic tranny and duramax for a high horse bio-diesel swap.
  • 2 0
actually if your shifts on a manual are decent you can get slightly better fuel economy.
  • 1 0
well depends. VW just developed an auto transmission that is more fuel efficient. this is on the passat my parents were looking at. when driving it, it sounds exactly like you're driving manual, but imagine driving manual, and having no delay between like when you decide to change gears, and when you actually change lol. it happens very quickly and smoothly. was interesting to me cuz i had never seen it.

edit:the new V60 is sick though. diesel/plug in is an amazing way to save money.

It's hard to find a tranny more efficient than a CVT.

you could buy a shit ton of bikes, DH , Road, All mountain, and XC, for probably less than a new car would cost.
  • 2 0
alternately, you could buy a couple of new cars for the cost of a really good road bike.

It actually is more destructive to the environment to make a hybrid than a normal car. FACT

 BSal is right.

Yeah you can clean the air. But what the battery chemicals leave behind is really toxic and stays in the ground from what I hear

it is basically demonstrating ignorance through a comment. im definately not an environmentalist ( check in the car section on my profile) but i do believe that the future of the automotive industry is in renewable energy such as solar powered, hybrid and so on. saying they dont do much is false. comparing a prius that does about 5L/100 km (47 MPG) and a shelby 68 that does about 58 L/100km( 4MPG) . reducing that much energy makes a great deal. id never drive one of those cars but i do believe that we all will one day or another
  • 2 0
Magnets....wait for them... Look up on the Californian man and his issues with the new Chevy Volt.... Also look up the process to make a Prius.
  • 3 1
Hydrogen powered cars are where it's at.
  • 3 1
totally agree with you. but the first comment was ignorent and was basically spitting on technologies that will overpower fuel in both performances and have the ability of being a lot less pollutant. i hate prius, smarts and etc. i like trucks, mud, and tits. but using judgment i do not see the purpose of denying the possibility of another source of energy
  • 10 0
 Hydrogen... Also...I like tits.....you and I aren't so different.
  • 1 0
Cool as f*ck fact I found out a while back. Has anyone heard of wood gas? they use to use it in Germany in world war 3 when the Nazi's stopped letting citizens use gas in there cars. If there was a way so do that more efficiently it would be one good source another that is my fave is the use of water as fuel. they have a program somewhere I think Switzerland to start making cars just to run on tap water Razz I myself wish I had a TDI I would run it on bio diesel
  • 1 0
 WW3 Eh...
  • 1 0
 hahaha I meant WWII Razz
WW3 is when The US republicans work to make Canada a state lol
  • 1 0
That water thing may well be a variant of hydrogen power. Water is notoriously un-combustible Wink
  • 3 1
if you want better gas mileage get a vw tdi. going green is just a movement. all about the money.
  • 2 1
I actually did a massive case study in college on this, for a brand Mitsubishi electric car (can't remember the name but it costs around £35k) to start saving you money over a £15k VW polo doing X miles per year (think it was 8000) takes something like 14.7833 years, who seriously owns yhe same car for almost 15 years ? They're just not viable yet!
  • 2 0
Prius C starts at 20,000, why not pick the cheaper one?
  • 1 0
because the prius is a Hybrid... still uses petrol, the Mitsubishi is all electric (I believe)
  • 1 0
Yeah but how many places support all electric cars? Hybrids are the way to go for commuting.
  • 1 0
an increasing amount of places in the U.K support it... Hybrids are NOT the way forward, hydrogen powered vehicles will win out in the end, Hybrids just seem like a good idea, but inevitably fossil fuels WILL run out, hydrogen on the other hand, will never run out!
  • 1 0
Not in our lifetime, or the next.
  • 1 0
didn't mention our life time or the next, although, best estimates suggest that crude oil could run out as soon as 2070... providing no new sources are found so in a nutshell, technically, we could be forced to use other power sources in our lifetime due to either the price of oil being so ridiculously high orr there being none left at all!
  • 2 1
We'll have to wean ourselves off oil much sooner than that. Oil will fall out of use not when it runs out, but when demand is so high it stops being a commercially viable option. In our lifetime, likely as not.
  • 1 1
Wow, cant believe you hippies are still on about this.
  • 2 0
The zombie apocalypse will have already happened before 2070, I think we should be worried about that more than hydrogen powered cars.
  • 1 1
eco car = car you leave in the showroom/garage.
