Fernie is awesome but I do believe they shut down the main chair for renovations for the summer. Don't be making any travel plans until you check out the current status. But the rest of the riding in that area is great.

Ehhh they shut down the timber chair which only really ran on weekends anyways, so most of the trails are still accessible. Couple of the timber side trails are still rideable if you don’t mind a short walk

I got a panorama pass this year, elk side chair lift is a 20 min ride up. Way to slow of a lift. Timber side is the only good side. The local shuttle trails are amazing and now the road due to local fundraising paying for a grader to make it a nice shuttle road. Good job fernie locals

That's a shame. Elk chair is decent for new to intermediate riders, but anyone looking for rowdier terrain will be disappointed. Some of the best runs on the mountain (IMO) will definitely be out of reach.

My wife and I had the privilege of going to fernie last year. We made a stop in whitefish and then headed up to BC. Fernie was a great time. Super friendly locals. Great culture. We stayed at lizard Creek. If I were to do it again I would stay down in the town as that's where we ended up spending most of our non-mtb time .

Hahahaha trail crew I hope they have one this year. Last year was the first year in a long time they had one biker that was trail crew. But I have not heard any thing yet this year.

@Travisroesner: Same crew again this year and the work they are doing is awesome, Two newish trails on elk side too, Cat's Pyjamas and Case Closed are worth a look for sure, they work they did on Duff Dynasty was nothing short of amazing taking a trail that lacked any flow and made it fun.
