@likeittacky: Then the pressures would just be fighting against each other and would go no where? Or am I missing something? Also, Elon has a bit more money than most.

@likeittacky: It's needs your body weight to compress it. Then it locks in place. When you press the lever it releases and the pressure sends it back up. I don't see how you could make it lower with a button. Not without a lot of bulk and weight anyway.
