Hexagon Components Launches Ti Pro 3D Printed Titanium Brake Levers for $109
The claimed material saved in the manufacturing process is some greenwashing. What they didn’t say is: - the initial material is still melted and forged to produce a bar. Therefore, there will be no reduction in let say CO2 emissions; - the conversion process into powder has a yield between 50 to 70% at most; - the Laser Power Bed Fusion process used to print the brake levers has itself a yield of 90%.
