Check Out: A Rebuildable Saddle, Shiny Cranks, Discreet Earbuds, DH Bar Ends and More
@johnnys2010: That is true for me. I think it depends if you are someone who holds your grips close to the flange or close to the edge. Im close to the flange so in my preferred position the bar ends weren’t making any contact with my hand. So I had to cut my bars a bit to make them contact while keeping my hands in the preferred position.

Bike Check: 4 Winning Bikes from the 2026 Downieville Classic
@justinb03: norcal as well and I have an xc bike as well as dh so we likely ride similarly. I like a rekon/rekon race combo. Currently I have forekaster/rekon but it doesn’t feel as fast. I have run rekon race/aspen and that was surprisingly good except braking was bad.

Pinkbike Poll: Are You a Brand Loyalist?
I think for most people it is just because that is easiest. Most people don’t even deviate from one brand. So they just choose the riding type front and rear tire from their preferred manufacturer. It is easy to get overwhelmed with choice when it comes to tires.

Opinion: Handlebar Width is the Most Overlooked Element of Mountain Bike Fit
@titan1: This whole scenario seems like apples to oranges. The pro moto guys get a professional fit just like pro mtb racers. Pros don’t need to faff around with stuff like bar width because their professional fit dialed that in for them. This article isn’t aimed at pros. Similarly pro mtb racers aren’t worried about their brake pads, the team mechanics take care of that. Just like the factory team mechanics do that for moto. I see plenty of recreational riders pedaling around with uncut 800mm bars and 2 pot brakes with resin pads. Does that mean those people are more hardcore than people who care about tweaking their setup, or are they just ignorant? Ignorance is bliss.
