First Ride: Specialized's New Chisel FS Cross-Country Bike - Aluminum Done Light
Rode a Rocky Mountain Element SC back twenty years back, and then a Pivot Mach 5: both aluminum. Carbon since...and I've been looking to build either a Ripley AF or a Specialized Aluminum Stumpy. This bike looks the shit...great work, Specialized!

Pinkbike Poll: If Mountain Bikes Had Never Existed, Would You Still Be a Cyclist?
Commuted to school and work since 1976, crossed continents unsupported and carrying gear, built a Bontrager Crossbike to take into the hills 15 years ago, and started mountain biking in the 80's with thumb shifters and 3X cranks. It's all fun until an idiot in a car risks your life to text or scroll or otherwise takes his eyes off the road. I'm 65, and tomorrow will find me three hours into a trail ride and happy. But, until you've moved your body across countries and for months and months at a time, there's an aspect of cycling that will remain a mystery to anyone who hasn't felt the pleasure of self-propelled and self-determined travel.

Video: Mountain Bike Trail Names are Weird
Go ahead, give it a go. And while you're at it, what defines a "woke" platform?

The Pinkbike Podcast: Making Bikepacking as Unpleasant as Possible with Tom Bradshaw
Had to switch-off this podcast: for how many times and for how many ways are we as the listening audience meant to listen to a paid cycling journalist using a podcast as a personal therapy session? Evan the guest tried to limit the host to one minute...and HQ rapid talked right past. Levy is a curious, empathetic, and a good listener, ad when he returns, so will I. Tip: ask short open questions, then listen.

We Explain the Bike Industry | Pinkbike Magazine Show Ep. 2 - Taipei Special
With three folks on this video, why does one person in particular feel a need to hijack the conversation? Even, it seems, asking a question and then interrupting the person's answer. Tedious, and not good listening or viewing for that matter. FFS.

The Pinkbike Podcast: Episode 139 - Crankworx Wrap-up and Bikes for the Zombie Apocalypse
Henry Quinney obliterates the clíché that when a person with a British accent speaks, the ideas sound intelligent based on that fact alone.

The Pinkbike Podcast: Episode 87 - How To Love Riding When it's Cold and Wet
Gentlemen- my current ride (Pivot Mach 4 v2) uses 27.5 wheels, a 130mm fork, and has a head angle of 69.2. I love the bike in all respects, but would love more stability in the rough stuff. If you all had to guess, what would "happen" to the handling if I installed this: https://www.pinkbike.com/news/wolf-tooth-releases-new-geoshift-2-performance-angle-headset.html I live in Ventura County (SoCal), and ride a variety of tight and twisty ups and downs, to fast and relatively technical trails. I'd prefer not to buy another bike, and would like to extend the life of this 2018 rig. I understand you all can't necessarily predict with complete accuracy, but any thoughts would help: I don't need more bikes; I just would like to embrace the current trend of a bit slacker head angle found on the "downcountry" (sorry Levy) rigs. Thanks in advance.
