Ride with Sam Hill or Sam Hill patiently waits for you at the bottom of the trail.

Chaindriven (Sep 10, 2013 at 0:16)

Ride with Sam Hill, for about 2 seconds!

seraph (Sep 10, 2013 at 0:23)

Shuttle up with Sam Hill! Ride in a car with him! Hear him talk for as long as it takes for the shuttle truck to make it to the top of the trail!

WAKIdesigns (Sep 10, 2013 at 0:23) (Below Threshold)

Yea - sneaky basterds, I paid the flight, got raped by border security, off to meet him at the trail head and he just took off! I gaet raebbed! The'tyk'mae priiiize!

argtoshi (Sep 10, 2013 at 0:59)

i think they will film a movie with the name one shuttle gap>!

GreybeardRules FL (Sep 10, 2013 at 8:02)

How do you know it isn't a tandem ride? Sam barking orders to lean hard as you dive into corners completely blind... doesn't that sound fun and wholly terrifying!

chris199 (Sep 10, 2013 at 9:52)

Our longest track in perth is like 2 minutes long....

bikounet (Sep 10, 2013 at 11:09)

I WANT TO WIIIIIN!!!!

iamonfire (Sep 11, 2013 at 4:56)

2 minute track - 4 minute gap from sam. Good try CRC!

bikounet (Sep 28, 2013 at 14:10)

Well, now he's injured... we are f*ck**

darkmuncan (Sep 9, 2013 at 22:31)

so now our North American neighbours know how we feel whenever a contest is "North American Residents Only" or some awesome prize I need an airfare to collect.

WAKIdesigns (Sep 10, 2013 at 0:16)

yea, I can see that on Border Security already: -purpose of visit? - riding bikes with Sam Hill -you con't just say some hill, I need to know specifically where are you going to ridey bikey Sir in order to grant you a permity to enter the country. - I mean Samuel Hill, a downhill rider - ok. Is that a piece of cereal on your jersey? - um yes - that may contain fourms of lifey like mushroms or pesties and can be a direct threatie to our home producy. I will charge you 220 dollyrs and cancel your visa, you will fly homie this eveningie - Nooooooo!

clarky78 (Sep 10, 2013 at 7:29)

Yeah, kinda. Except the one's run in US or Canada usually include flights or money towards travel, accomodation etc. This is a chance to win a few hours with Sam Hill! Hardly similar really.

tenacious3l (Sep 10, 2013 at 0:48)

ONE contest based outside North America and everyone's suddenly butt-hurt

arthursc2 (Sep 10, 2013 at 8:48)

All it takes is one lol

firsttraxx (Sep 10, 2013 at 12:21)

Not sure this is sudden. Seems like the majority of PinkBike spends the bulk of its time being butt-hurt.

Liberty555 (Sep 9, 2013 at 22:04)

Finally a comp near home. 5 mins away!

donpinpon29 (Sep 10, 2013 at 1:25)

Forget about the comp. Just go there anyway, sure prize for you!!

XCGiant (Sep 9, 2013 at 22:20)

I am entered and willing to travel from the other side of Australia, bring it on

bmar (Sep 9, 2013 at 22:32)

Sam Hill would hate riding with me! Maybe I could ride his bike and he could ride a tricycle. Then maybe I could keep up. I would be super stoked if I won though.

extendead (Sep 10, 2013 at 0:29)

I ask Sam to follow me on the trail... for sure it will be his longest and most stop run in his life haha! to Travel and spend out of my pocket??? ill just wait for the next Sea Otter..

wickrider (Sep 10, 2013 at 4:59)

i rode with Same a couple of years a go on a lazy July day, just chillin in Bromont. (me and a train of other guys)

he had dissapeared in 2 corners....well....for him....they were not really corners, that's probably why he was gone so fast.
Obstacle for average riders like me are not even noticed by pro riders. Sam is just on of the best example of that.

i would love to grad a trail with him on all mountain bikes tho, you can learn a lot from ridding with super fast guys.

seanstdenis (Sep 9, 2013 at 22:24)

Damn. Im going to Oz but returning home on the 9th of Oct. Maybe I'll wait for a hang with Tippie contest.

Ephaxia (Sep 10, 2013 at 10:27)

I could probably pay Sam Hill to ride with me for the equivalent of a return flight to Australia would cost...

Sontator (Sep 10, 2013 at 11:35)

No travel included has nought to do with airfares. it means you get to ride a hardtail with rigid fork while he is on his mega.

PatMcG (Sep 10, 2013 at 3:46)

i would give anything to ride with sam!! hes one of the reasons i started to ride!

fatlarry (Sep 10, 2013 at 9:33)

I'd like to enter, but then transfer it to my friend in Australia... Apparently that's not allowed, so I won't sign up and you have limited how many people world wide will sign up for your email blasts...

NomadC-Aussie (Sep 10, 2013 at 22:28)

i actually participated in a gravity enduro with Sam Hill in Perth not so long ago.. top bloke ey.. smooth rider for the 3 seconds he was near you... he hung around and spoke to people.. all in all was an awesome experience

nick94 (Sep 10, 2013 at 6:53)

Not actually riding with him kids, it's sinking beers at the OBH and watching him get interviewed....

Backdoor (Sep 10, 2013 at 12:02)

Could have at least had it at a good pub, not one full off CUB's with their collars up

tea-addict (Sep 10, 2013 at 21:57)

CRC are really making Sam work for his place on the team, eh?

Stuart42 (Sep 11, 2013 at 9:10)

This guy lacks personality, cant believe how little he seems to enjoy what he does, his team mates are the real characters. We need more Steve Smiths, Peaty's and Gracia's and less Hills, Gwins in the biking world. Its nice to see guys stoked on the sport, Bryceland is a gust of fresh air on the race scene, I think.

malathion (Sep 9, 2013 at 23:59)

not even a "and one lucky winner will receive an all expenses paid trip to.." etc. ? lame.

dionnkennedyy (Sep 10, 2013 at 1:58)

You know how much it would cost to fly someone from the other side of the world to ride a bike? Not worth it. Quit whinging, this is one of the first contests not in the USA.

Lawman (Sep 10, 2013 at 1:55)

Or you can do what i did last week and got him to ride my local trails with my dog

cheezario (Sep 10, 2013 at 4:37)

Ocean Beach Hotel is ages away from any trails. So is this ACTUALLY a ride with Sam, or just a promo event??

kavika (Sep 12, 2013 at 0:24)

The title says RIDE, the description says " on October 12th (4-7pm) for an afternoon of food, drink and BIKE TALK!" So no ride????

Lawman (Sep 10, 2013 at 4:55)

He's gone to norway this morn shag so no more local rides with Sam for a while pal, was great tho (for us plebs anyways) Lol

semaj (Sep 10, 2013 at 7:16)

Someone's mom is going to be mad when she gets asked for airfare to Australia if they win the contest from overseas.

motorcrosser12 (Sep 10, 2013 at 13:07)

I'd be screwed if I won, there's no way my parents would pay for the flight costs, and the transport from the airport to the hotel and all the way back again!

mudd (Sep 10, 2013 at 9:25)

No travel is included in prize. --- WTF? Find your own way to Australia bro!

kixx (Sep 10, 2013 at 10:58)

i don't want to ride WITH sam hill, i want to ride LIKE sam hill ... then i'll consider taking him out for a run

masters5 (Sep 10, 2013 at 16:14)

Feeling the arvo is going to beta bit Samapolooza at the OBH....

bikenmiken (Sep 11, 2013 at 15:06)

So Which PB staffer do we get to ride with?

bigandybikes FL (Sep 9, 2013 at 22:05)

I sign up for anything that is free...

coregrind FL (Sep 9, 2013 at 22:16)

FREE, if you're willing to pay for travel.

sethd (Sep 9, 2013 at 22:29)

Free would imply ask expenses paid. But travel is a good chunk of change

MendelMu (Sep 10, 2013 at 1:14)

stfu. See it as a vacation where you get to meet sam Hilletopp

char34 (Sep 10, 2013 at 2:51)

thats right lawman cracking day when is the next one

pozzer (Sep 10, 2013 at 5:18)

MangoSentinel (Sep 10, 2013 at 5:45)

Would love to chill with Sam. Seems like the kinda guy that smokes mad weed on the off season.

Spooner009 (Sep 9, 2013 at 22:50)

Absolute Rip snorter

mtbkook (Sep 10, 2013 at 8:33)

Perth is the most isolated major city in the world. There is probably only 40 MTBers there.

masters5 (Sep 10, 2013 at 16:09)

Yeah, not so much.....

www.pinkbike.com/video/328600

NomadC-Aussie (Sep 10, 2013 at 22:36)

we may not be Whistler MTB Park mate but there is heaps of passionate mtb riders here.. more that 40 so STFU

Zziplex (Sep 10, 2013 at 15:04)

What's with the Sam Hill love in??? It's as if half of yers want to shag him or summat.

Zziplex (Sep 10, 2013 at 15:07)

Plus Nukeproof is pikey as fuck.

countreeboy (Sep 11, 2013 at 5:19)

yeah you've just shown that you know absolutely f**k all about dh there, nice work

Zziplex (Sep 11, 2013 at 8:22)

So what? Feel free to worship, I'll just ride my bike.

countreeboy (Sep 14, 2013 at 11:16)

countreeboy (Sep 15, 2013 at 5:25)

funnier how big and brave cunts like you are on forums, fuck off and ride your scooter or whatever the fuck you do when you're not acting like a 5 year old on here. Twat

Below threshold threads are hidden

jimmyrecard (Sep 9, 2013 at 22:09)

I feel like nobody out side of Australia will be chosen cuz it would cost to much to send a guy from frozen Canada down there to meet him, when its easy to pick a kid in town there.

airsoftesneeto (Sep 9, 2013 at 22:45)

..."no travel is included in the prize"

sethd (Sep 9, 2013 at 23:23) (Below Threshold)

That can be taken two ways though. One being that no travel costs are included in the prize and the other being that it is included. More clarification would be appreciated

Kona-Stinker-Dude (Sep 10, 2013 at 4:22)

You just clarified that you are an idiot, appreciated.

sethd (Sep 10, 2013 at 6:31) (Below Threshold)

i apologize everyone i left my computer on and my 8 year old brother apparently went full retard on all my accounts

semaj (Sep 10, 2013 at 7:14)

Yeah your 8 year old brother typed "clarification" riiiiiiiight

Kona-Stinker-Dude (Sep 10, 2013 at 12:31)

Instead of blaming it on your nonexistent brother, you should be like me and go sit and cry quietly when you type something completely stupid.

satn (Sep 10, 2013 at 21:53)

Just send me the bike if I win. Sam wouldn't want to ride with me anyways. I'm too fat and slow. Fuk me!

satn (Sep 9, 2013 at 22:20)

What no travel included? Thats big bucks to get downunder forvsome shrimps on the barbie with sam. If I win just send me the bike.

flowraw123 (Sep 9, 2013 at 22:42)

You don't win a bike...
