so if you smash your derailleur to pieces on a big@$$ rock, or for some reason you crash and wreck your shifter display... do you just buy that piece or the whole set? or you rip your "wire" cables apart? i wonder how to fix this on the mountain with just a simple tool?

YES! its an every 4 year event anyways. If Curling had a chance to become "Olympic event" why not DH??? our World Cup racer are top athletes physically and mentally. yes there will be politics with Olympics with IOC implementing ridiculous rules, but as long as they dont touch the core of racing which is World Cup and World Champs which wont happen, that is fine (UCI is already a pain in the neck!!) and personally, I really want it in the Olympic games cause DH is a sport, its a sport that requires dedication, commitment and BALLS!! It should be recognized as a legit, world class event from its roots in RePack racing, and more people should see it! Dont expect people after watching the Olympic games to be buying DH bikes and hit the trails. But expect more trails to be ALLOWED locally cause now they wont just see a bunch of adrenaline junkies hitting the trails, but is a "sport". And I want Steve Peat to win the first one! To us DHers it may be a "threat" in the core of the sport but it will be more of an "eye opener" to many. cheers man!
