Pinkbike Primer - Everything You Need to Know Ahead of Crankworx Cairns 2023
you would have to pay me to watch the Crankworks DH. there is not a single pro racer signed up for Cairns. i would rather pay for the world cup than watch free coverage of something painfully dull.

Crankworx Announces DH Plans for 2023 Including $130,000 Prize Money & Rob Warner On the Mic
smart move for Crankworks to lure all the Warner fans who seem to care more about the commentary than the actual racing . since Crankworks can't actually manage to cover more than 20 seconds of the race runs

Crankworx Announces DH Plans for 2023 Including $130,000 Prize Money & Rob Warner On the Mic
Warner had personally confirmed back in the summer that he was staying with Red Bull. https://www.pinkbike.com/news/racing-rumours-5-possible-changes-for-the-2023-world-cup-season.html. Sounds like maybe he is the one who is now lying.

UCI & Warner Bros. Discovery Announce Viewing Options & New World Series Branding for 2023 World Cups
@Jacobedowney i had messaged EWS and was told that all national enduro championships would be qualifiers for the world cup. the races are listed on the Uci calender. https://www.uci.org/calendar/mtb/1voMyukVGR4iZMhMlDfRv0?discipline=MTB&raceType=EDR&raceClass=CN Looks like USA Cycling has not yet finalized a new venue and dates for the 2023 nat champs race. . Plus there are still the EWS100 races which anyone can enter. and anyone trying to qualify for the world cup can get points at the ews100s

The Pinkbike Podcast: Enduro World Cup Racing, New Tech, & Will Bike Prices Go Back Down?
@bonkmasterflex: Eastern States Cup might be the most established race series on the east coast - but it's hardly a "premier" series. It's mostly amateur local racers and not especially competitive. Looking at the Sugarloaf results from last summer ( which was an qualifier race), maybe 1% of the racers would actually have any business racing in the EWS World cup. If riders want to race in the World Cup, it's not that unreasonable to expect them to race the USA nationals in Winter Park and measure themselves against the best american racers before taking on international races.

The Pinkbike Podcast: Enduro World Cup Racing, New Tech, & Will Bike Prices Go Back Down?
the article says World Cup qualifying points are available at all official national championship races - they are just no longer available at random races like the ESC series. kinda makes sense to keep to competition / level consistent . plus there is still the amateur EWS100 race option which don't have qualfication requirements. and you used to be able to collect points at the EWS100. not sure what the plan is for 2023

Big Mountain Enduro Announces Registration and Huge Pro Purse for 2023
@hais: Kerr is he is responsible for team budgets and rider salaries. he owns and manages Pivot Factory Racing (which is separate different than Pivot bikes). no angst. nothing against BK. just saying he should be accountable as well since he whinges about prize money every single time the topic is mention .

ultimately only ever tiny fraction of racers actually podium / collect prize money. so it's really just a bonus. inadequate racer salaries are the real issue. why don't you share what you pay your Pivot team riders - and let everyone evaluate the adequacy of their compensation and your contribution to the sustainability of the sport ?

Replay: Downhill - Crankworx Cairns 2022
in classic crankworks style, the race and coverage is dull and mediocore. only the bottom quarter of the webcast features riders that you have ever heard of previously. laughable to hear people keep saying crankworks is going to the new redbull replacement for world cups.

SeaOtter had already announced that they were rescheduling the festival to these same dates. Why would Crankworks choose conflicting dates ??
