The mtb industry has a serious void of 35+ single dads repping their products, but this will be our year!

 Yes!!!

 @nyhc00 Absolutely!

Looking for a moderately over-weight 34 year old to promote poor health and poorer riding habits to crash test your product?!

Your guy is here.

I think you need to provide race results and other info to be accepted. I already bought the Dainese stuff I wanted at super-discount at my local D-Store in S.F, watched some moto-GP on their big screen, had some snacks, grabbed some free stickers, and called it a day.

you can't race off road moto with Dainese body armor because you would die of heat exhaustion half way through the race.

@usaraceteam: Which brand do you recommend?

@endlessblockades: like i said, i have tried them all. over 40 years of riding and raced 20 years. The best protection and coolest body armor chest, back, and knees especially are Leatt hands down! POC second but a lot hotter. Both POC and Leatt have serious protection level ratings and Leatt is by far the coolest.

@usaraceteam: Maybe you just run hot. Maybe you live in the desert, who knows? It's hard to take you too seriously when you are clearly on a crusade in this thread.
  • 1 1
@usaraceteam: leatt stuff is really on my radar..liking how their shorts have that lil bit of extra duck bill over the knee to limit the skin gap; slip on knee pad look good too-similiar to 7idp
  • 2 0
@usaraceteam: You're the Donald Trump of pinkbike, aren't you, buddy
  • 1 1
@zholmes: brilliant comparison. Must be a berkley grad?
  • 8 2
what if you have already spent thousands with dainese do you still have to do the buy in? just my motorcycle racing suit was $1000 and we arent even talking about all the mtb stuff i have bought. shit i even have there carbon fiber neck brace that hardly anyone knew they made a few yrs back and introduced at the sea otter where i purchased for around $600.
  • 4 0
I hope they consider "normal" riders. I'm familiar with Dainese from my days on a sportsbike and know their stuff is top notch, but in my area I only know two people that use any of their stuff so I hope they're using this as a sort of grassroots marketing campaign to get their products out there. I'd love to walk into a LBS and see some Dainese stuff stocked.
  • 2 1
They are looking for growing athletes that could really be on top a podium or in a magazine one day. They will have a good selection of people to sort through and get plenty of advertisement out of it. In marketing sometimes you take a short term loss for long term gain.

they are only looking to sell there super hot body armor because no body want it! They have just come up with a clever way to market by fooling young people they can become mtb stars.

Hey Mark- We definitely want to grow our rider base and we want to support the community of authentic riders. That said, we are currently sponsors of the MS Mondraker team which has gone well over the last year!

there has got to be a catch...
  • 1 1
Agreed, sounds to good to be true.
  • 11 0
Yes, you become a Dainese advertiser!
  • 2 0
Yeah man. You're just signing your soul away when you hit submit. NO STRINGS!!!
  • 4 0
If it is signing your soul away to Dainese that is fine, they have saved me enough times on a motorcycle.

yes, the catch is your krazy to wear Dainese SUPER HOT BODY ARMOR
  • 9 0
No catch here. The small "buy-in" purchase will be of either a DH item (Rhyolite 2.0) or Enduro item (Trail Knit tee and shorts) at 50% off MSRP for qualified applicants. Then you get a free kit (DH or Enduro) to go along with it.

 @Dainese: Awesome, I'm a medium.

 @Dainese: If only I still IG'ed and FB'ed... Frown
  • 1 0
@Dainese: Awesome! Can't wait to get some news, i just signed up for it Smile By the way, Is there any requirements that you guys are actually looking for?
  • 1 0
@Dainese: I can say that back in the days, Dainese was the only thing that I would wear when racing DH. Great products and unbelieveable fit in which I owned several full upper body vest and knee/shin sleeves. But fast forward to today and it is very hard to find the right fit in your product line... My friends and I tried on a bunch of gear at Sea Otter hoping to find protective gear that we would like to invest in. I'm 5'7" 185 lbs, muscular build but one of the smaller guys in my test group and no one was fat or overweight. That being said, I had to put on XL to XXL sizes for it fit well enough not to cut off circulation. Wasn't working for me or my friends then but if you are looking for a rider that can give you great feedback on ergonomics and fitment, then I am you guy...

Good to see that military guy gearing up for a ride. Thanks for your service!
  • 2 0
Can't lay claim to much on a mountain bike but I have ridden a mountain bike in Helmand Province, Afghanistan. Great memories.
  • 4 0
@DrPete: I built dirt jumps at Al Asad- we were all on bikes out there. Jenson USA sent us a bunch of free parts to keep them running.
  • 2 0
Awesome. We didn't have anything that fancy. I just ordered a no-name beater 29er and rode around our base. There was a little bit of fun terrain out there. Was jealous of my Danish colleagues-our hospital was far from their barracks so they got army-issued Scott hardtails.

Gear never lasts for me. I swear I have the worst track record. I am 4 years into mountain biking, I don't think I have a single piece of gear that has been in use for longer than a year. Gear endurance testing is apparently something I really excel at haha! @Dainese
  • 4 0
what is the "small buy in purchase" how much?
  • 5 0
The small buy in will be of an item from our DH collection (Rhyolite 2) or Enduro collection (Trail knit tee +shorts) at 50% off MSRP (roughly $150) only for qualified applicants. After that you will receive an entire kit for free as well (DH or Enduro)

@Dainese: I lusted over the original full body suit. I remember the first time I saw pros ripping down the slope with the bib lower body set, bibs flapping out the back. I was SOLD!!!
  • 1 0
@Dainese: No chance you could sponsor, or discount a minor rider or a team?
  • 1 0
Cool program and cool looking stuff. Was just looking earlier at the armor t sirt. Looks like a good armor set for hot days at the bike park
  • 2 0
Any consideration for members of the military? Being on active duty in the Army is the only way I ever score a pro deal. Smile
  • 2 1
I hope they make real XL sizes, I had dainese before and they run smaller than others, I'm willing to try again.
  • 2 0
Has anyone heard from the program at all?
  • 1 0
@Dainese do you guys have any ideas when you will be getting back to people regarding this?
  • 1 0
We have selected and built our team for 2017
  • 1 0
Well I'm not that good of a rider but I sure crash a lot
Do I qualify?
  • 1 0
what is considered a "qualified" aplicant just over 18 or is there more?
  • 2 5
You could NOT pay me to wear Dainese body armor for one reason only: EXTREMELY HOT BODY ARMOR! I have tried them all and Dainese is by far outrageously krazy HOT body armor. Dainese focus is street moto. You know hot leather jackets. Go to an off road moto race and no one is wearing Dainese. Why because people don't want to feel like they live on the planet mercury.

I think the trail skins pads allow pretty good airflow once you get moving.

the reason why Dainese is doing this last ditch effort campaign is because they are desperate for sales: no one wants Dainese SUPER HOT BODY ARMOR.
  • 4 1
@usaraceteam: You obviously haven't used their knee pads - things are the best I've ridden. Can't speak to their armor, but their elbow and knee pads are legit for racing.

@Loamhuck: i'm talking about body armor for the back, chest shoulders. elbow pads are bad and also hot. thanx
  • 4 1
@usaraceteam: HAHA I still have a 2001 Safety Jacket (gray ninja turtle) that I still use for DH race, but I wouldn't want to use it for enduro. I just use their trailskin knee pads which are fine. What are you doing, the Baja 500 or something?
  • 1 2
@Loamhuck: you obviously haven't used anything else. try leatt. you will not stop thank me for the rest of your riding life
  • 3 0
@usaraceteam: seriously stop trolling and go away. If you work for leatt then that's cool bro but your acting like a twat.
  • 1 0
@me too! zippers are a little sticky and the fit is tight, but it does the job!
