I never even mounted the rear wheel. I was sure it would take the 12 speed cassette I have. I was wrong. It will take some 12 speed ones, just not mine. The front wheel went on two shopping trips. Obviously both wheels are in perfect condition. They come with spare spokes etc.

Ah, so if you have more kids, it's less money/kid. Also, I got reasonable bikes for my kids and am not expecting to lose too much. On the flipside, they enjoy riding so much more which means that they're less likely to play soccer or some other crap sport.
