Pinkbike Poll: Singletrack or Fire Road Climbs?
Been MTBing 28 years and have never enjoyed climbing. I like to follow the OG roots like the founders on Mt. Tam and shuttle whenever possible. Leave it to the roadie of the group (Gary Fisher) to go and get excited about the lamest part of mountain biking.

Pinkbike Poll: What Are Your Must-Have Features On a New Mountain Bike?
Surprised that warranty wasn't on the list. That's an important factor for me, too.

If You Use Tubes, Tannus' Tire Insert Might Be For You - Taipei Cycle Show 2018
@LOLWTF: Perhaps you misinterpreted my comment and its chronology...or maybe even the word "care" which gets misused in the phrase "could care less" when people really mean "could not care less," neither of which is the context for my use of the word "care" in my post. In other words, I will continue to use tubeless because I like their performance (i.e. I do CARE for the PERFORMANCE of tubeless), despite the mess which I do not like much (i.e., I do not care for the mess). If the insert described in this article proves that it can allow users to run low pressures with tubes without getting pinch flats, I "might" be interested in trying them out and returning to tubes. Clear as Stan's Sealant?

If You Use Tubes, Tannus' Tire Insert Might Be For You - Taipei Cycle Show 2018
I would be interested in a long term test review. I was a hold out for tubeless for a long time having watched my friends burp tires or fail to seal up holes if their sealant wasn't fresh. However, I had to run high pressures with tubes to avoid pinch flats. Once the tires and rims improved such that regular burping was not an issue, I switched to tubeless and am very happy with the traction and overall performance I get from tubeless. But...having changed tires for the first time on my tubeless setup, I did not care for the sticky, crusty mess I had to clean up first. Personally, I think I might prefer the cleaner approach this design offers IF pinch flats are not an issue at lower pressures. Of course those inserts also add rotational mass which isn't very desirable, so there's that. So, back to my first thought; a long term review is in order.

Intense Announces Lower Retail Prices and Hybrid Direct-to-Customer Sales
Something from this article struck me in particular regarding waiting for end-of-year closeouts. Not saying it's impossible, but as a short rider in need of size small frames, I rarely see end-of-year deals in size small and usually have to purchase early in the season while they're available. Manufacturers don't make as many size small (understandable) and LBS rarely stock them. By end of year, none are left to even discount; at least not in the models or colors I'm looking for. The idea of a demo fleet and direct sales that aren't timed to a model year cycle is appealing; count me in.

Pinkbike Poll: What If....?
That's my primary complaint about pressfit bbs. I do most of my own bike maintenance, and I loathe the idea of taking my bike to a shop for something as mundane as a bb replacement. As a home wrench, the idea of buying expensive tools for my occasional use is cost prohibitive and there is no way I would want to go the hammer route (hello voided warranty!!).
